Memebox is a hit, 'cause I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one who's purchasing tons of boxes in a 3-month period. I've known some people, from different countries, who have had 20 or more boxes! Talk about Memebox addiction!

Anyway, Memebox (pronounced as "mi-mi box"), seems to take the word "Me!" into a whole different level. It's like an "everything-for-me" box, which really sounds so appealing. It worked for me, and obviously, for those who keep on coming back for more Memeboxes!

Nonetheless, I have something new for ME, again:

ANOTHER MEMEBOX!

It's Memebox Special # 35 - Moisture Surge:

It's a dry skin smackdown! Dry, flaky skin sucks almost as much as breakouts and oily skin! Whether you're dealing with an all-over moisture problem or battling just a few annoying dry patches, this Moisture Surge Box will cure all, even during the harshest fall and winter months! This box will lock in moisture for a dewy and supple complexion, and fortify the skins' moisture barrier for all day hydration!
This was the very first box I purchased despite being broke, and probably the first and the last to be purchased from the Memeshop, without availing the free express shipping upgrade. Can you blame me? I was really desperate to get my hands on this, because I badly need moisturizing products. Honestly, the rest of my purchases (so far) from the Memeshop were all 'wants', while this, I figured, is a NEED.

It's a pretty light box, so by the time I had my hands on it, I lowered my expectations a bit. Well, the first two Memeboxes I got, which were Diet Box and Herbal Cosmetics, were a bit heavier than this one. Nonetheless, my heart was telling me to rip the packaging off, to finally see what's inside.

So, here's a preview:

Now that you've seen the lot, let's take a look at each! The products are arranged according to my preferences:

Original Raw Deluxe Kit ver. 3.0 30ml x 3each ($60)

Black Bubble
Made from all naturally-derived cleansing complex, the Black Bubble boosts its auto-bubble system which works when the oxygen transmitter from its formula meets the air and automatically transforms into fine, minute bubbles for cleansing deep into and throughout your face.
Chan-mool Patting Essence
Tangly and jelly-like textured, this Chan-mool Patting Essence relieves, moisturizes, brightens, and tightens up the skin all-in-one, by creating a protective moisture barrier.
Water Block Black Jam
The black component extracted from plants and the super hyaluronic acid combine together to create a moisture wall over your skin. A single application will last you up to 48 hours without any further rehydration.

The spoiler for this product came out a few days after I ordered this box. Nonetheless, I felt so happy when I figured that it's a set of three skincare products. I don't think each tube is full-sized though. All of which look small, but definitely perfect for travel. Since the set contains small tubes and all, I think I'm going to toss the whole set to my travel bag. A girl could never have too many skincare products!

Honestly, I don't think the set is worth $60 at all, but I have no proof whatsoever. I wonder if Memebox bloated the price for this? $60 per set just sounds too much for a skincare product.

Rosemoon Rich 53% Collagen Smart Balm 50ml  ($47)
This Collagen Smart Balm is a nourishing facial cream for deeply hydrating the skin and strengthening the skin's innate strength and function. Experience super soft, moist, and well-protected skin the next morning with this collagen-rich formula!
Anything with collagen is welcome - at least, for me. I love products with collagen because majority of them are very effective in nourishing facial skin. So far, I think Etude House Collagen Line has the best collagen products I've tried. I wonder if this product could keep up with Etude House's reputation? We'll find out soon.

Dermahouse Aloe Vera Moisture Mist 120ml ($14)

It's a moisture splurge for all those super dry and sensitive skin out there! whether your face is overheated from excessive exposure to sun or dry  and irritated from an exhausting day, Dermahouse's Aloe Vera Mist delivers and instant replenishing and soothing effect with just a single spritz! Experience softer, healthier, and more radiant skin.
When it comes to toners and mists, I prefer ones with 'green labels'. By green labels, I mean, those that give away 'green tea' or 'aloe' as main ingredients. I'm really glad Memebox included this, which I know for sure that would be something I could use in the near future.

Among the products included in this box, I believe this will be the very first one I will use, as I'm currently running out of my 'green tea' facial mist.
Insobeau Hiaromax Vitamin Stick 10g ($29)
A quick 1-second swipe of this Hiraromax Vitamin Stick along especially dry areas of your face - eye contours, mouth contour, cheeks - will instantly replenish and moisturize the skin for a brighter and suppler complexion overall! Plus, the rich vitamin and hyaluronic acid formula works to cool, soothe, and even treat enlarged pores.
I've had mixed feelings when I first picked this up, because for one, it's a moisturizer in an intriguing form. Second, its description sounds like a spot treatment for dry skin. For now , I couldn't see myself using this as I still have quite a number of moisturizers lined up for use.

I'm also quite concerned because it's in a stick form. I dread products in stick forms, even lippies, because I live in a tropical country. In case you're not aware, I've had experiences with products melting out because of the heat. I hope this vitamin stick wouldn't give me some problems!
Imface Vio-Xellose Neck Patch 10ml ($5)
Naturally-derived coconut jelly texture, Imface's special botanical wrinkle complex extracts and adenosine complex all work to treat signs of aging along your neckline. This product is free of paraben, benzophenone, sulfate, artificial pigment, and artificial fragrance.
I hate it when Memebox considers a single mask sheet as a full-sized item. You can never get to know a sheet mask's worth if you only got one or two of the same variant to try, which is why I'm not too interested in sheet masks included Memeboxes.

This product would have been very interesting, but it's close to nothing because I won't get to experience how this will work out on my skin. Also, would you believe that this sheet is worth $5 each?! I, for one, wouldn't believe it.
Wish Formula Premium Ampoule Mask 1 pc ($14)
This miracle Premium Ampoule Mask improves the skin's natural recovery power while it also works to combat wrinkles and deeply nourishes the skin, leaving it moist, supple, and radiant.
Okay, another mask, with a pricetag of $14 each, which I believe is very preposterous. Once again, I'm not too keen on trying this one out, because it's a single piece of mask!

Overall

It's almost impossible to conclude that Memeboxes are not worth the time and money - because so far, they have been doing great! I love how they curate 'new' products, and I love how they make the most out of the money you pay them. These are a few of the many reasons why I simply adore Memebox.

True, there are a few products that may not catch our fancy, but most products are very usable. I believe that some of the products I didn't like, were like bonus items. Thankfully, everytime I open a Memebox, I always find products that make me happy.

This particular box, Moisture Surge, is no different from the last few Memeboxes I unboxed. Majority of the products I received were great, while the rest, were bonuses. I love all the items included in this box, except for a couple of masks.

Well, that's all for today's unboxing! Watch out for my next unboxing post!

See you!

Unboxing Post: Memebox Special #35 - Moisture Surge + October Discount Coupon Codes

Monday, September 29, 2014

I remember the unboxing I've done for the past few boxes, and I just realized, that maybe, just maybe, there were times my expectations were just too much for BDJ. I mean, I must have been suffering from hormonal imbalance when I made my rants. Or, I was already too happy when I thought I was happy with the products I unboxed.

I don't know if this makes sense to you, but the thing is, I should try to 'calm' myself prior to unboxing, to know which products deserve appreciation, and which ones don't.

Anyway, here it is:

The box is bigger than the usual BDJBox, and heavier, too!

It says, BEAUTY INNOVATIONS.

This is it! Finally, new things that I could try! I wonder which new products/brands are included?

Here comes the awaited unboxing!!

Well, see for yourself if it's a good box, or not.

I have arranged the products according to my preferences:

Pond's Dewy Rose Gel, 10g

Dewy, soft skin is now easy to achieve with Pond's Institute's newest formulation. Flawless White Dewy Rose Gel. This whitening gel is infused with Rose Lumiere Serum that goes deep into the skin to lighten dark spots and smoothen pores outside giving you that rosy glow you've always wanted.
It says whitening, which I'm not really a fan of; but, I don't really mind. For as long as I won't look like a ghost with this, I'm very willing to give this a go. I've always wanted that 'glowing' look, and I know most of us do. However, so far, I could only achieve the 'glowing' look by using selected Korean products.

Apparently, this is a new product from Pond's; so really, I can't wait to use it!

Each Pond's Dewy Rose Gel 10g retails for Php 150. I got two,by the way.

Notice that both products look really small when compared to my hand.

Jergen's Moisture Pack (includes Ultra Healing Lotion 100ml, Daily Moisture 200ml)

Jergen's Ultra Healing Lotion, 100ml
Be the first to try this newly relaunched body lotion that's formulated with a Hydralucence Blend to go deep beneath skin's surface to heal dryness at the source.
Jergen's Daily Moisture, 200ml
Infused with moisturizing Silk Proteins and a Citrus Extract, this reformulated lotion leaves the skin looking and feeling silky and smooth all day long.
Wow, two full-sized products!

Although I'm not really a fan of lotions without SPF, I think these are worth  trying because both products promise moisture. I believe these are 'new' products as well. I hope these are not sticky!

The Healing Lotion retails for Php 88, while the Daily Moisture retails at Php 153.

Cream Silk Daily Treatment Conditioner, 180ml (2pcs)
This product combines the benefits of a weekly hair treatment with the speed of a daily conditioner. It's formulated with a Vita-boost complex, that deeply penetrates the hair strand to nourish it from within.
Use it in place of your regular conditioner to pamper your hair everyday. With 4 variants to choose from, you're sure to find one that addresses your hair concerns.
I know these conditioners are not really 'new' but I'm glad they included two of these because I could use them. BDJ has just saved me from purchasing another tube of conditioner from the grocery. Yeah!!!

Beach Hut Clear Spray, 180ml
Gone are the days of having to spread that sticky, messy sunblock on your skin! Stay longer under the sun without worrying about those harmful rays. It provides better, easier and even application than your ordinary sunblock lotion. Just spray and go!
I am an avid user of sunblocks and/or sunscreens, and I stock up of a whole lot of them whenever I get the chance. I considered buying this particular sunblock, probably a few months ago, but I hesitated, because it's 'spray type'.

A friend of mine told me that she used to apply spray type sunblock on her skin. However, this didn't work out for her because according to her, spray-type sunblock are so sticky, that dust and grime accumulate on your skin whenever you wear it. The dirt and everything else would stick, unless of course, you wash it off.

For me, it was like listening to a horror story. Who would want to experience that kind of thing?

Nonetheless, I'm happy that BDJ included this so that we could try it. I'm hoping that this Beach Hut wouldn't be a disaster. If it's entirely different from the product that was in the 'horror story', I would be very glad to repurchase.

The Beach Hut Clear Spray in 180ml retails at Php 390.00 each.

Dove Intense Repair Daily Hair Vitamin, 6ml x 12 capsules
Lock in the nourishment for your hair the whole day by using these newly launched hair vitamins infused with Vitamin E and botanical extracts from Dove. Packaged in individual capsules to keep the formula fresh, simply cut out the end to squeeze the contents on your palms and apply to the middle section of your hair down to the tips for long lasting shine and smoothness.
I've seen quite a lot of these at Watsons, but I never considered purchasing. Upon reading the description, I thought, it might not be a bad idea to try these after all.

Each blister pack of 6 capsules retails for Php 75.

Godiva Cleansing Kit
Godiva Licowhite Whitening Facial Wash
Its low-foaming, soap-free formula is infused with Licorice Root Extract, to gently cleanse your skin, leaving it with a softer, smoother glow.
Godiva Licowhite Whitening Toner
Get longer-lasting whiter skin with this toner formulated with Glabridin to effectively even out skintone and get rid of stubborn makeup gently.
The last five products in this list can be found at Watsons. However, the Godiva products are not the kind of products I would purchase from there. I was never a fan of 'whitening' stuff. However, I wouldn't want to waste these, so I'm placing them in my travel kit.

By the way, why in the world are we, Filipinos, so obsessed with whitening products? Why not turn to brightening products instead?

The facial wash in 50ml retails at Php 85, while the toner in 60ml costs Php 60.

FS Gel Liner, 5ml
Say goodby to your pencils and hello to this gel-based eyeliner from FS! It's soft on the lids and rich in definition, so you can easily define your eyes. It comes in a 5ml elegant glass bottle and also comes with a free brush! It glides on smoothly helping you effortlessly achieve the look you want.
I've been trying to stay clear of FS cosmetics because of this Gel Liner. I have tried this (the black variant) sometime in 2010, but I was disappointed. 'Long-wear' gel eyeliner is nothing but lies. Expect smudges and panda eyes with this.

Also, I'm a little doubtful with it because it doesn't have an expiration date printed on its packaging. I'm a little paranoid, because the other FS product in the box, is about to expire on February 2015! That's  less than 5 months! Talk about 'beauty innovations'.

According to the curator card, this gel liner retails for Php 299.

FS Single Eye Shadow, 4g
These easy to blend powder eye shadows from FS are a great way to build up your eyeshadow collection. They come in varying finishes - shimmer, matte, satin and glitter that you can mix and match to create the look that you want. Their silky textures make it easy to blend on your eyes and also prevents product fallout.
Lastly, meet the FS Single Eye Shadow. This came in last because, it's damaged and it's FS. Sorry, I was really upset with my gel liner, so I had to lower my expectations on the brand. I'm thinking of giving this away, or keeping this for myself. Expiry date is on February 2015, so I have to decide real soon!

Each FS Single Eyeshadow in 4g retails at Php 150.00 each,

Overall:

My idea of a 'good' box:

  • contains new products
  • contains practical products
  • contains products that are not close to expiry
  • great value for money (overall)

Hence, based on my criteria, this is a good box, because it managed to fulfill some of my expectations. Obviously, the not-so-new products included in the box, are the FS cosmetics, and maybe the Jergens lotions, while the rest are simply waiting to be tested.

Overall, I'm happy I got this box, because I could 'feel' that I get great value for my money.

Please let me know by commenting below if there's any product in the box that you'd like me to review. 'Til then!

Love lots,

Newbee

P.S.

I'll be unboxing another Memebox real soon, so stay tuned!

Unboxing Post: BDJBox September 2014 - Beauty Innovations

Thursday, September 18, 2014

I scrub my skin at least twice a week, because I’m pretty sure that nothing beats a squeaky clean body. Bath soaps may be good, but scrubbing (and exfoliating) would just do the extra work! Obviously, this habit of mine led me to different body scrub brands, including Bath and Body Works.

A couple of months ago, I raided my closet, and discovered a stash of Bath and Body Works products, including some body scrubs, almost forgotten. Well, sorry about that, but there’s nothing to worry about. It’s not going to expire. Yes, I checked before using.

I decided to road test the BBW Japanese Cherry Blossom Glowing Body Scrub. Fast forward six weeks or more, and the tube’s almost empty.

What can I say? I just love this baby and I want more!!!

Apparently, this product retails at $16 (approx. Php 700). Bath and Body Works is a popular brand, but despite its popularity, it’s very difficult to come upon. Sadly, there are no Bath and Body Works Retail Stores in the Philippines, but there are a few people who sell them offline, even online. You just have to look for them.

A word of caution, though: not everything being sold online are genuine. So, make sure that the product you’re about to purchase is the real deal.

I guess, I’m just a bit lucky, having somebody residing in the US, send me stuff such as this. Thank you, dear relatives and friends.

Anyway, let’s get on to the details:

General Information:

According to the product description:

Our Signature Glowing Body Scrub helps skin feel soft, smooth and supremely sexy. Bamboo gently exfoliates and helps smooth skin, while Coconut Milk extract and Vitamin E nourish to leave skin looking beautiful.

Massage onto skin to create a creamy, cleansing lather, and rinse. Enjoy the fragrance of our exclusive, award-winning Japanese Cherry Blossom, a seductive and mysterious floral scent inspired by the exotic gardens of Japan.

Basically, the BBW Glowing Body Scrub promises to smoothen and soften skin. One of the unique features of this baby is the scent as well!

Packaging

This is the old packaging. Sometime this year, BBW upgraded their packaging. I don’t have the new ones, but I bet the solution is just about the same.

This one utilizes a rather stout tube. It’s supposed to hold the scrub intact. But then… This very same tube made a mess on my folded clothes when I once brought it to travel. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t crushed. I suspect the lid doesn’t seal very well. Too bad…

The packaging is somewhat generic, but since it holds a scrub solution and there’s so much product in it, then it is not 100% foolproof. Take extra caution when bringing this during travels.

Scent

Honestly, I don't have any idea on what the Japanese Cherry Blossom really smells like, so I have nothing to compare this Japanese Cherry Blossom Body scrub scent with; but, I do know that it is a pretty good fragrance.

The scent is not overwhelming. And the 'sweetness' is decent. Obviously, it's predominantly floral, but not the kind that would throw me off. I hope this helps.

I heard that this scent is one of Bath and Body Works' bestselling fragrances.

Formulation

A scrub would really mean something to me if it does its job well.

A scrub should be able to scrub!

And since this glowing body scrub is rich with exfoliants, this definitely does its job real well. It's not harsh on the skin, and its scent lingers for a while even after bathing. It doesn't dry out my skin, too!

I also like how it feels 'fresh' on the skin for a while. I simply love this! It's just a perfect little scrub!

Rating:

Packaging - 4.00 out of 5.00
Scent  - 4.50 out of 5.00
Formulation - 5.00 out of 5.00

Overall - 4.50 out of 5.00

Pros:
    *smells great
    *doesn't dry out the skin
    * scrubs well
    * very easy to apply
    * pleasant scent lingers for a while
    * leaves a fresh feeling

Cons:
     *Pricey at $16
     * not available locally
     * may leak during travels
     * may solidify if exposed to the air

Repurchase?

Yes, I definitely will! But I guess I should first give other variants a try.

That's all for today!

Thanks for reading!

Love,

Newbee

Review: Bath and Body Works Signature Collection Japanese Cherry Blossom Glowing Body Scrub

Thursday, September 11, 2014

Apologies for the late unboxing post for this Memebox.

If you missed my first Memebox unboxing post (Memebox Special #27 Diet Box), you may check it out here

Let's not wait any longer! Let the unboxing begin!

Memebox Superbox #31 Herbal Cosmetics
Soothe and comfort your mind, body, and soul with our new Herbal Cosmetics Box, packed with beauty products made from organic herbs such as lavender, tea tree, chamomile, or peppermint, all highly appreciated in the beauty world for their amazing healing powers. Sit back, relax, and enjoy nature's healing remedy with Herbal Cosmetics!

I got this box together with the Memebox Special #27 Diet Box. Both boxes were being sold as value boxes, by which combined cost is roughly around $68 + express shipping. As for this box, I got 6 full-sized items.

Here's a close look on the items included in the Memebox Superbox #31 - Herbal Cosmetics:

Items are arranged according to my preferences:

Calmia Rooibos Aqua Sprinkler Gel Cream 150ml ($34)
Rooibos Aqua Sprinkler Gel Cream is a pudding-textured moisturizing gel which can be used as an all-in-one cosmetic for skin booster, toner, emulsion, essence and gel cream. Rooibos extracts and sparkling water deliver nutrition-rich minerals and deep hydration to your skin. Uniquely, it can be sprayed on like a mist from a distance, but when you pump it close to skin, the texture comes out like a whitish gel cream!

I picked this one among the other products in box because it sounds so promising! I mean, I follow a strict skincare routine, which involves the following:

1) Cleanse, tone, moisturize + apply sunscreen in the morning
2) Cleanse, tone, moisturize in the evening
3) Use facial micropeeling + facial masks at thrice a week

Not to mention, the whole layering takes a big chunk of my time, but I still do it anyway. I believe that in order for my skin to age gracefully, I really have to do it, every single day.

The Calmia Rooibos Aqua Sprinkler Gel Cream, on the other hand, allows you to skip the tone and moisturize part, because it claims to be a sort of "all-in-one" product. How convenient!

I hope it works out well, because for one, I've been tardy at work for so many times because of this layering thingy, and this gel sounds like a lifesaver. I hope this wouldn't disappoint me. :)

Calmia Herb Cleansing Oil Gel 100ml ($18)
With a nourishing blend of organic argan oil and organic complex - lavender, rosemary, chamomile, basil leaf, green tea extracts - this Herb Cleansing Oil helps maintain skin clear, soft, and comfortable. Also, it turns into milk-colored foams that won't droop like average cleansing oils when lathered with water, allowing for a thorough cleansing deep down into your pores.

I simply love cleansers! And for the record, I have about 6 different cleansers in my drawer. No kidding! I really, really want to try them all.

Come to think of it, I have a feeling that there would be more cleansers on my way. After all, I have five other Memeboxes!

Let's face it, cleansing is an essential part of any lady's routine. I've said goodbye to using bath soaps as facial soaps years ago. And I've been seeing great things from the switch.

On the other hand, this Calmia Herb Cleansing Oil Gel is definitely NOT your typical cleanser. I know I've got a lot of cleansers, but there's nothing in my drawer that's supposed to perform as this new cleanser promises. The Calmia Herb Cleansing Oil Gel is supposedly made of organic stuff, and its unique formulation sounds like a must try. Can't wait to try it out!

Nasarang Herb BB SPF50+ PA+++ 30g ($46)
A Blemish Balm made from various herbal and grain extracts, this is a premium BB cream for anti-wrinkle care, UV Protection, and complexion brightening. It will replenish moisture to the skin, leaving it beaming with a natural glow. Despite its skin brightening property, it can be used for almost all skin types since it doesn't necessarily whiten your skin color; it'll only smooth out and cover up imperfections .

Ooooooohhh! A BB Cream!

From the very start, I have been hoping NOT to receive a BB Cream from one of my Memeboxes.

For one, BB creams generally have very good coverage, which is why I've been having difficulty emptying my BB cream stash. I have accumulated a lot since last year, and yeah, here comes another one.

But, I'm not gloomy or anything. Surprisingly, I'm happy I got this one.

Like the first two products I mentioned in this post, this BB cream just sounds so unique.

All this time, I've been using BB Creams that leave a whitish (or greyish) cast on my skin, but THIS...

THIS WOULDN'T!

It says that it would blend into your skin as it covers up flaws. Plus, it has SPF 50! Could you believe it?

This sounds like a product sent from heaven. Then again, can't wait to try it out!

Rose Mine Azulene Calming Gel 75ml ($29)
Soothe, moisturize and cool your dried, sun-burnt skin with this Azulene Calming Gel. Its gentle formula from chamomile extracts helps alleviate redness, smooth out roughened skin texture, and even reduce red blemishes.

My very first reaction when I saw this thing was:

OMG.. Something I couldn't use! And what a waste - it's a full-sized product! What have you been thinking Memebox?

The curator card mentioned chamomile, but sadly, there's not hint of it anywhere. It doesn't even smell like one!

Obviously, a calming gel is something that Filipinos (like me) would rarely (or never) use at all - because we avoid prolonged sun exposure like plague. I admit: right after unboxing, I just threw this farther from the rest of my favorite stash, but eventually, I took it back.

The curator card also mentioned something like: smooth out & moisturize roughened skin texture. That was when I figured that I could use it even without a sunburn!

I bet there's no harm in trying this out, primarily as a skin moisturizer.

Thank you Memebox for another potentially wonderful product.

Skinfood Bath Salt Honey Jasmine 80g ($3)
Made from various herbal extracts and mineral-rich organic salt from Australia, Skinfood's Bath Salt will alleviate and replenish your tired body and soul.

This bath salt's scent is just so strong that I could smell it inside a sealed Memebox box.

The thing is, I didn't like the scent at first. It made me feel nauseous, because it's probably too much for my tiny nose.

Few days later, I began to appreciate the scent because the strong 'throw' dissipated, leaving base notes to linger in the air.

I'm afraid I won't be able to use this bath salt though, simply because, we don't have a bathtub, and so are the most of us here in the Philippines. As of now, I use this bath salt as a closet 'freshener' and it works just fine.

Kskin Rose Sense 100% Essential Oil 5ml ($42)
This smart essential oil can be used for multiple functions - as a scented perfume when dropped on your clothes or underarms, as an aroma bath oil, as a body massage oil, and also as your secret perfume for when you're suffering from monthly period and its annoying stench.

To be honest, I have been expecting Memebox to include essential oils, because its theme leans towards herbal cosmetics. Essential oils are like the holy grail for beauty and relaxation, and personally, I think essential oils are pretty cool stuff to include in a beauty box.

However, I must admit, that I'm not too happy with this product. It's not that I don't like rose, but it's not the kind of rose that I would love sniffing. I don't know, but my senses keep on telling me that the scent is worst than granny roses (century old ones), which are pretty nasty and creepy, if I may add. Kind of reminds me of a very old haunted house.

I would have loved a lavender, tea tree, chamomile or a peppermint essential oil, because they're especially friendly to the senses. When it comes to rosy scents, it really depends. There are so many versions of rose scents out there and I'm afraid I just got the it-smells-awful kind of rose scent.

Also, funny how the Memebox curator card would encourage users to mask stenches with this essential oil.

Memebox, we all get it: You can do a whole lot of stuff with essential oils, but there's no need to sugarcoat it. Essential oils are essential oils - and they are great just the way they are.

Overall

Just like my first Memebox unboxing, I had a few things that I'm not too happy about. However, overall, I still find Memebox worth purchasing, to mention the following reasons:

  1. Great value for money - Do the computation, and you'll discover that I've indeed saved a lot of money from the cosmetics/products they included in the box;
  2. Features new products - Yes, they really include products that are new and innovative. I find this very important in a beauty box, and Memebox executes this perfectly well. I have been seeing new and innovative stuff from time to time.
  3. Address a certain need or choose a theme - This is where Memebox differs from the rest of the beauty boxes out there. With Memebox, you could choose which ones to purchase, and how many.
  4. Curation for products are excellent - I know there were some misses, but based on my experience, the misses seem a lot like bonus products to me, and would not significantly affect the value of the box. Aside from those misses, I appreciate the quality of the products included in the box. These are the kind of products that would be really difficult to part from.
Well, that's all for today's unboxing. Is there anything in this box that you'd like me to review? Just let me know!

Unboxing Post: Memebox Superbox #31 - Herbal Cosmetics + Why Buy Memebox? + Coupons

Wednesday, September 3, 2014

Today is a very special day because...

<drumroll please!>

MEMEBOX! I now have my very first MEMEBOX!

Two boxes in one!

Fancy box! :)

As a matter of fact, I got two!

One is the Memebox Special #27 Diet Box, which I will talk about in this post, while the other is the Memebox Superbox #31 Herbal Cosmetics!

Sorry, but I'll do the Herbal Cosmetics Unboxing some other time, but please do stick with me! I would really love to share to everybody my excitement even over the second box.

Believe me, I'm the happiest person in town right now. I have never thought that getting my hands on these babies would leave me grinning from ear to ear. You can't blame me, right? I've waited for these two for like a little over a month to be shipped. Plus, those Memebox unboxing posts that came before mine were really, really tempting!

Do I have an addictive personality? I hope not because even before my first Memebox arrived, I ordered 5 other boxes! So far, I paid for 7 Memeboxes. I'm hopeful that everything is worth the money and the long wait.

Ohhh, watch out for my unboxing posts on those babies as well!

In case you're not familiar with Memebox, I'll brief you on what it is and how you could avail its services.

Memebox was first established in Korea, and it eventually made it to the global market - shipping to various countries from all over the globe, including US and the Philippines. Memebox offers beauty boxes of varied themes and purposes. And clients could choose which boxes would suit their needs and budget, for as long as the preferred items are still available.

Well, obviously I chose two boxes from the list, the Diet Box and the Herbal Cosmetics, which are not available anymore. But don't fret. You might find something else that would catch your fancy. Or if you're lucky, Memebox might release another version of my boxes in the future! :) They've done this to some of their bestselling boxes!

Anyway, let's get down to business! Let's take a peek at what the Memebox Special #27 Diet Box has in store for me (and the other subscribers!):

Memebox Special # 27 Diet Box

Need a little help this summer with your diet plan? Target problem areas by tightening and firming up the jiggle with new and trendy Korean diet creams, massagers, and edibles! It’ll tone up your thighs for signature Korean “honey thighs”, give you bomb abs that will make you look like you’re ready to debut as a member of a K-Pop girl group, and give you and envious S-line curve that’s all in the rage in Korea.

Take a look at the curator card!

I must say: that was pretty bold of Memebox to promise girls with “honey thighs”and “bomb abs”, just with a few products. Also, it seems that Memebox had probably gone too far on promising its Diet Box subscribers a “K-Pop Member” body.

I know it sounds crazy, and impossible, but I gave in anyway. Obviously, I bought the diet box, weeks ago, despite the skepticism. Well, I could never run out of anything new to try!

Anyway, let’s move on to the unboxing!

Now, what’s inside the Memebox Special # 27 Diet Box?

Items are arranged according to my preferences:

Dermahouse Lifting Shape Up Hot Gel 200ml

The caffeine, coffee extracts, hot pepper extracts, mate leaf extracts, and vanillyl butlyl ether formula of the hot gel uses heat to break down formation of cellulite and offers relaxing care for maintaining a healthier, sleeker body line.

Hot gels are great to use, despite the fact that results are usually close to nothing.

I’m hoping that this won’t sting. I've tried some hot gels in the past, and I found out that some were comfortable to use, while the others sting like crazy! It’s so painful that you want to rip your skin off!

This one looks promising, though. It did mention “relaxing care”, which sounds really good to me. I’ll be using this tonight. I hope I’ll feel relaxed.

Also, I wish that it could do something about my bulging tummy cellulites. According to the curator card, the Dermahouse Lifting Shape Up Hot Gel 200ml retails at $34.

Kepaclub Frozen Body Ggong Ggong Gel 100g

There are two types of body fat – the brown fat which works to maintain the body’s temperature and the white fat which can double and triple in its size unlimitedly and is ultimately responsible for causing obesity. Frozen Body Ggong Ggong gel works to specifically break down and target the white fat and prevent the brown fat from decreasing in its size.

Well, I got a hot gel, and a cold one as well! But, is there really something like brown fat and white fat? How come it’s the first time I heard of it?

I admit this one’s really interesting.

According to the curator card, you could store this thing in the freezer. There’s no worry on freezing it, whatsoever, because it’s formulated not to freeze.

Well, there’s no harm in trying this one. J

Each KepaClub Frozen Body Ggong Ggong Gel in 100g tube retails at $16.

LG Health Care Slim Fit Sparkling Shot (7g x 14)

Grapefruit flavored and packed with Vitamin B, Vitamin C, concentrated cranberry powder, and chicory extracts powder, LG Health Care’s Slim Fit Sparkling Shot is the new popular diet drink among young Koreans. Simply mix in the powder with water and take 1 drink each day, and the Garcinia Cambogia extracts work to deter the transformation of carbohydrates into body fats, ultimately preventing any build-up of body fats around your thighs and love-handles.

I was kind of expecting diet edibles, as mentioned in the description, but I can’t find anything at all!

Nada.

Nothing.

But, this…

This is the closest thing to the edibles – a powdered drink, which I’m quite skeptical about.

LG?

LG – yep. As in LG -  as in the one that sells/manufactures appliances. Take a look at the logo at the bottom of the box, you’ll understand what I’ve been trying to say.

I hope this doesn’t taste terrible!

The LG Health Care Slim Fit Sparkling Shot (7g x 14) retails at $24.

Ferderma Egyptian Diet Soap 100g

No need to starve with this sensational Egyptian Diet Soap which helps to maintain a beautiful body line only through 5-10 minutes of massaging while taking a shower. The spicy menthol, sweet fennel, horseradish, dandelion extracts, grapefruit, cinnamon oil, lemon oil, and rosemary oil work to alleviate knotted muscles, improve the flexibility and balance of the body, and provide aroma therapeutic effects for relieving stress level as well. Plus, it’s free of paraben, artificial fragrance, and artificial coloring; Ferderma strives to provide only nature-friendly and skin-beneficial beauty regime.

Honestly, I don’t expect much slimming effects from this soap, but since it promises a great deal of stuff – eg stress relief, and improvement on the body’s flexibility and balance (whatever that means), I feel like it’s really worth a try. Also, it's so pretty!

On the other hand, it makes me want to keep this for later since the retail price for this tiny soap is $18. Quite a pricetag, don’t you think?

SXM I Value Body Ampoule 7ml

This is a liquid-type of ampoule to help control your body line. Its formula can be divided into 3 main functions of the ampoule. Adiposlim, adipoless, and caffeine components help break down and control level of cellulites, while lyslastine V patent rh-polypeptide-7, and palmitoy oligopeptide work to maintain your body line well moisturized and silky smooth.

First of all, I think there are so many clerical errors in the curator card. It mentions so many unfamiliar chemicals that I’m sure a lot of us don’t know about. I figured there could be something wrong because the one who encoded it got the “Garcinia cambogia” all wrong. My suggestion is, don’t mind the ingredients/chemicals too much.

I’m pretty sure though that Adiposlim is correct, and I do love the fact that they mentioned Adiposlim. You’ll find out later why I’m glad I found Adiposlim in this product.

I think this product is promising, but it’s so tiny at 7ml retailed at $5. I read somewhere that effects would be visible after 28 days of use of this product. Sadly, 7ml could only cover 3 - 10 uses. If this is a bigger product, say, 30ml, I would have been more interested in it.

Purederm Miracle Body Shaping Treatment 2each

Purederm’s Miracle Body Shaping Treatment is made from a patented complex, “Bodyfit”, which has proven to be highly effective in breaking down excess cellulites and preventing body fats from piling up. The caffeine components also work to remove puffiness along your body line, and the moisturizing components such as olive oil and sweet almond oil help maintain body skin highly moist and supple.

This is a sight for sore eyes, because among all the products listed in this box, the Purederm Miracle Body Shaping Gel is the most familiar one.

Hey! Watson's sell these stuff! Scan the firming lotion section in the nearest Watson's store in your area, and you'll know what I'm talking about. The thing is, I love this product so much that I've kept 20 packets of this once. It contains adiposlim, which is indeed very effective in minimizing cellulites, in my experience though. But you'll have to use it regularly so as to maintain the figure.

Honestly, I was a bit saddened by Memebox for only including 2 of these. On top of that, the curator card even stated that each patch retails for $5. Well, I got mine BUY 1 TAKE 1 at Php 150. That's roughly $2 each!

Nonetheless, this is something I could use.

STC Massage Roller 60g

This is a massage roller for breaking down excess cellulites and alleviating puffy areas of your body. It is best recommended to be used with a lifting or firming body gel/cream.

I think I have seen something like this before...

Can you buy this from Divisoria? Isn't this from Divisoria?

For me, I think this is the least exciting product in the box. I mean, they don't really expect us to tone down with this stuff right?

Would you believe that this tiny roller costs $6 each? Well, that's how the curator card states it. One thing's for sure, though: I will never purchase anything like it.

OVERALL

Well, that's all for the Memebox Special #27 Diet Box! Each item in this box is considered full sized. Although, there some things that I wasn't quite happy about, I still believe that overall, it's a good box. There are so many new things to try, and the products look promising!

I got the Memebox Special #27 Diet Box and Memebox Superbox #31 Herbal Cosmetics at $68.00 + shipping. I personally think it's worth my hard-earned money, which is why I bought a whole lot more of Memeboxes!
