Say goodnight to all your imperfections with this luxurious While You Were Sleeping Box! This night care recovery box bursts with skin, body and hair miracle-workers that combat all signs of aging for a younger, brighter, more beautiful you. As aging and hormonal changes weaken skin, body, and hair at their structural levels, even a full night's sleep can't provide optimal recovery, giving you a less than perfect look.
Don't fret because this ultimate beauty box will regenerate, repair, and replenish your beauty - all while you sleep! Skin will look younger and re-plumped and hair would be silkier and shinier - more beautiful than the day before!
I purchased this box prior to the delivery of my Memebox Princess Edition # 2: Sleeping Beauty. When the latter came, I was disappointed because it didn't meet my expectations. And here comes another night repair box, which I hoped won't turn out as bad as the Sleeping Beauty Box.

When I opened the box, I saw these:

I felt relieved! This box looked great at first glance!

Let's take a look at the products one by one.

I have arranged the products according to my preferences:

Grinif Queen of Rose Water Eye Cream 30ml $50

A moisturizing Rose Water Eye Cream formulated with rose water, collagen, peptide, macadamia seed oil, witch hazel extracts, and various amino acids for delivering deep nutrition, intensive wrinkle care, and tone balancing effect. It works to fill in the fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, leaving a much softer, firmer skin texture.
This product is sooooo lovely and elegant. Not to mention that it is perfect for the Sleeping Beauty box! So, why in the world Memebox didn't put this in the Sleeping Beauty box?! It's just about perfect!

Since it's formulated with good stuff, e.g. collagen, rose water, and witch hazel, I'm really, really excited to try this one out real soon!

Dr. MJ Jasmine Sleeping Water Mask 75ml

Deeply moisturize, deliver rich nutrition, soothe, de-tox, and brighten up with Dr. MJ Jasmine Sleeping Water Mask. It'll reach deep into your skin for a complexion turnover, working to soften and moisturize overnight. The relaxing aroma scent also helps distress both your body and mind.
This is something that I would really expect from a night repair box - a sleeping pack! On top of it, it promises to deliver a 'relaxing aroma', which could aid in stress relief. I think I need this more than anything else, so this goes right on to the queue of sleeping masks!

A.H.C. Whitening Special Gen Skin Care Kit [Solution 30ml, Serum 10ml, Cream 10ml] $18

This 3-step skin tone brightening medley includes a clarifying toner solution, soothing serum, and moisturizing cream, formulated with a range of ingredients that moisturize and brighten the complexion. Green tea, lavender, sage, rose hip oil, and more natural ingredients to help repair the look of fine lines, skin discolorations, and dull-looking skin.
I've said this like a million times already, I'm not a fan of whitening products. But, if it promises brightening effects as well, I'm in! This set screams whitening all over, but based on the description, it could aid in brightening the complexion as well. So, you're not going anywhere, skin care kit! You're mine!!!

Grinif Shea Butter Multi Balm 30ml $13

A nourishing multi-balm enriched with shea butter, Vitamin A, and Vitamin E. It's highly recommended to be used over dry patches on the face, lip and body, and also on damaged ends of hair as often as needed. It'll not only replenish and nourish but also create a moisture barrier for preventing future dehydration.
A multi-balm! It could moisturize the lip, the face and body, even the hair. It's tiny, though, but I guess it's worth a try.

Rosemine Azulene Calming Gel 75ml $29

A miraculous blue calming gel for soothing, cooling, and moisturizing red, irritated skin, dry patches, and even oily trouble skin suffering from excess blemishes. The blue formula comes from chamomile extracts, and it does not contain any artificial coloring at all.
Uh oh. A repeat product from the Memebox Superbox #31: Herbal Cosmetics

I would have loved another product instead of this. But on second thought, this could be useful soon. After all, summer is a few months away.

So, yeah, thanks Memebox. I have another Azulene to empty.

Mizon Olive Oil Cocoa Butter Foot Cream 80ml $9

Relieve, soften and nourish dry, cracked heels with Olive Cocoa Butter Foot Cream packed with rich nutrients from olive oil and cacao butter. Apply amply after buffing away dead skin cells from your feet, making sure to control the moisture balance and protecting the skin from any further damage or dehydration.
Mizon seems like a good Korean brand, but I never had the chance to try it before. I know that this product is more like a novelty item, but since it's Mizon, I should give it a try.

Glam Up Highly Enriched Ampoule 13ml $2

This advanced formula is a highly concentrated ampoule for nurturing healthy hair condition and growth. Doses of essential nourishment - ceramide protein, hyaluronic acid, and natural PCA moisturizers - support keratin production, which help hair appear fuller, thicker, and more lustrous.
For some unknown reason, this tiny product amuses me. I know for a fact that Memebox has been dumping quite a lot of hair treatment products into boxes recently, but I have a feeling that I'll love this product, despite being another hair treatment product and all. Hyaluronic acid and collagen sound like a perfect combo for hair treatment.

Just a hunch.

Pure Smile Potion Pack Hand $5

Hands are much more vulnerable to dehydration, loss of nutrition, and aging than the face and are in great need of intensive care. The Potion Pack for hands is easy-to-wear glove-type of essence mask enriched with various nutrients such as collagen, allantoin, aloe vera gel, snail mucus, pearl powders, royal jelly, and hibiscus.
I'm not too religious when it comes to using handpacks. In fact, I have only used one hand pack in my entire life... maybe? Probably, this will become my second. So, obviously, I'm keeping this for my next hand spa session.

Overall

I can't contain my happiness for this box. I love it! (Repeat a hundred times)

This box is packed with good beauty stuff. It sticks with the theme, which I'm extremely interested in. And, it's worth more than what I paid for!

I know it contains Azulene (a repeat product), a tiny hair ampoule, a foot cream and another single-use hand mask, but it's just fine! I mean, really, the last four products are inside the box because they are the bonus items, if you'd consider the value and quality of the other items.

The first four products, in my opinion, are just enough to blow your mind!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Memebox!

Unboxing Post: Memebox Superbox #76 - While You Were Sleeping

Saturday, February 8, 2014

Valentine’s Day is just around a corner; so, I assume that everyone wants to be pretty on that special day. In my case, I want to be pretty every day, which is why I try not to skip my mask routine every week. I do it 2-3 times a week, whenever I get the chance. I think of it as some sort of reward for doing all stressful things at home, at work, and even at school.

Speaking of masks, today’s review would be about another mask pack – the Baviphat Strawberry Toxifying Mask in 130g.

If you’ve been following my blog, you should know by now that I’m such a crazy fan for super cute packaging. Yes, I bought this baby mainly because it’s so darn cute. Who could resist a strawberry inspired jar? Not me. Definitely, not me.

I bought it from a small boutique in Davao City at a little more than Php 500, I guess. I’m so sorry; I could hardly remember how much it was worth four months ago.

Php 500+ for a 130g product with an insanely cute jar? I believe it’s a steal.

It's a strawberry sticking out! How cute is that?

I should warn you though. Due to the extra packaging features, the jar is relatively heavier than most cosmetic jars in the market. The ‘strawberry’ seemed to take most of its bulk, but in my case, it’s just fine. After all, I only use this particular mask at home. I use sheet masks when I travel, so the bulky strawberry is no biggie for me at all. I hope it wouldn't bring any problems to you, too.

Packaging comes with an extra cover and a cute spoon!
Scent

It looks like strawberry, but does it smell like strawberry?

The pink creamy substance will definitely remind you of strawberries!
A resounding yes, it is!

I, for one, love its sweet strawberry scent. It doesn’t smell too artificial, unlike those other strawberry-inspired cosmetics I used in the past.

Definitely soft and creamy, but don't eat it!
The scent may be overpowering when you first open the package, but don’t worry, the scent will eventually dissipate. First few applications would reveal a hint of strawberry, but soon enough, you’ll definitely forget about it. The strawberry scent only lingers for a while, and it’s not even an irritating smell, at least for my part.

Texture

It’s soft and creamy, and like most masks, it’s pretty easy to spread. However, it would start to solidify after a few minutes, so when you put this mask on, do it fast! Wait, not so fast, but relatively fast

A few seconds after application. Also shows the coverage of the 'spooned' product

It’s not a peel-off mask, but it solidifies anyway. I think it helps with tightening your pores, or something like that. Instructions indicate that you will have to put it on for 20 to 25 minutes before washing it off.

Taking it off

Most wash off packs are relatively difficult to wash off. This one, unfortunately, is not an exception at all, and if you’re clumsy enough, you might end up in a messy situation. I've been there, and it’s particularly difficult for me not to be messy whenever I use this. After all, when it comes in contact with water, it binds with the water then creates a texture similar to watery paint.

I suggest washing it off at least two to three times, and check regularly for white residues, especially along the contours around the nose.
Solidifies a few minutes after application

Results

Good. My rating would probably fall in 4.00 out 5.00, which is not bad at all. I appreciate it because it helps my face look and feel squeaky clean and soft. To add, I think it has significantly reduced my acne and my red spots, but then again, the results are only temporary – I guess for only four hours or more? Nonetheless, it’s worth a try.

Not bad, but I think it would take more for it to fully land as an HG. It surely is nice, but I think I’ll not repurchase this for a while.

I guess that sums it all up.

Do you have any comments on this particular post? Please let me know. Feel free to post them below.

Enjoy your day everyone!

Love,

Review: Baviphat Strawberry Toxifying Mask

I checked my cosmetics collection once again, only to find out that I’m running out of Nature Republic A-Kit Wash from the Nature Republic The Salon Body Esthe A-Fit Kit. I decided that before I use up everything, I should at least give you an idea on what it is, and how it works.

Stock Photo for Nature Republic The Salon Body Esthe A-Fit Kit

Last month, I decided to buy this kit on a whim, together with the Tonymoly Floria Pore-Tightening Cleansing Foam. I have never tried the Nature Republic brand before, and neither Tonymoly. Both purchases were a first for me and both were bought online. Unfortunately, Tonymoly was a bad purchase, as I mentioned in my blog post here.

Luckily, Nature Republic’s A-Kit performed way better than I imagined.

Read on if you’d like to know why.

Actual photos of my Nature Republic A-Fit Kit (after a month of regular use)
Close Look

The said kit contains two tubes: one is the A-Fit Wash 80ml and the other is the A-Fit Clear Cream in 50ml.

Nature Republic A-Fit Wash

According to its description, it is a mild scrub that could exfoliate the armpit; it promises to make your skin smoother and silkier. Most of all, it is said to be mineral oil-free, alcohol-free, synthetic dye-free, GMO-free and BSE-free.

The A-Fit Wash: Almost looks like facial cleanser

Nature Republic A-Fit Clear Cream

The A-Fit Clear Cream, on the other hand promises to whiten and moisturize the underarms. It also promises to minimize its pores and control odor; and just like the A-Fit wash, the cream is said to be mineral oil-free, alcohol-free, synthetic dye-free, GMO-free and BSE-free.

The A-Fit Cream

My Experience

I bought it at around 500 pesos (excluding shipping) online, and with two tubes at 50ml and 80ml, I initially thought that it was a great steal. It indeed was.

 The Wash

The Wash is like a mild facial cleanser, in terms of texture and consistency, and surprisingly, it doesn’t look like facial scrub at all. It lathers well, and a small amount of the wash should go a long way. Not much is needed, but it’s really good. I’m pretty satisfied with it.

However, I am quite suspicious with its composition. The ads tell me that it’s supposedly paraben-free etc., but not much has been said in its original packaging. Sadly, almost all of the texts written are in Korean. Please correct me if I’m wrong; I’m not a chemist or anything like that, but something tells me that the ad must be misleading us. For instance, it’s supposedly synthetic dye-free, but I could clearly see that the wash has some sort of a light green color to it. Would it be possible to achieve that kind of appearance without the use of synthetic chemicals?

If you’re sensitive enough, you might smell the light fragrance of the wash; the fragrance is somewhat close to baby powder, but it goes away as soon as you lather it with water.

The Cream

The cream looks just like your typical cream. It’s white and creamy.  Just like the wash, it smells like baby powder, too. The baby powder fragrance lingers though, because obviously, you don’t have to wash the cream right after application.

I've been using this kit for a while now, especially the wash because I decided I would not use my bath soap on my underarms anymore. Just like how I decided to stop using bath soap on my face, because cleansers are much much better to use. I figured that the skin on my armpits reacted really well to the A-kit solution. It’s somewhat embarrassing to elaborate the details here, but I could really attest that after regular use (daily, sometimes, twice a day), I realized that my armpits have:

                *lesser bumps
                *smaller pores
                *lighter complexion

As for the cream, it’s pretty good too, but I’m too lazy to put it on after washing. I sometimes use it instead of my beloved anti-perspirant, but somehow, it feels kind of wrong to do so. You guessed it right: me and my irrational senses, sometimes get in the way. After all, it wasn't marketed as an antiperspirant, so there’s no reason for me to stick to it during daytime. Also, I heard that the cream could cause some stains on your clothing, so better think twice before using it. I never had any personal experience with the cream staining my clothes, but it’s possible. In most cases, I use the cream on nighttime, when I’m about to sleep; it’s more comfortable that way.

My Verdict

I love it and it’s a 4.50 out of 5.00. I didn't give it a perfect rating because it lacked English texts, but I’ll continue using it. As a matter of fact, I already bought two kits so that I won’t have to worry running out of this thing in the near future.

So, I guess that’s all for now. I hope you learned something from this post.

Happy holidays to everyone!

Love lots,

NEWBEE

Review: Nature Republic The Salon Body Esthe A-Fit Kit (A-Fit Wash and A-Fit Clear Cream)

Sunday, December 22, 2013

Hi there!

A few days more and it’s Christmas once again.

Isn't that wonderful?

For those who had been anticipating my blog post, I’m so sorry if I’m a little late; I had to deal with a lot of stuff at school and at work. I have to admit that I spent the whole day yesterday sleeping and just watching movies, though. Pretty lazy, huh?  That was, to make up for the lost sleep and fun I would have spent in the past days, but I’m coping up anyway.

Since it’s the season of giving, I’d like to talk a little about something I got from my mail last week. It was sometime around Thursday, or Friday, I think; I’m not really sure, since I was away from home when it was delivered.

The BDJ Website

I got a Pantene Treatment Set (Pantene Pro-V Daily Intensive Conditioner Total Damage Care in 180ml + 1 Pantene Pro-V All Day Smooth Miracle Water in 100ml) from the Belle de Jour Team. It’s basically FREE and shipping is free as well, that is if you’d sign up for http://group.ilovebdj.com/

What I got. Sorry, I lost the original box these two products came with.

Initial Reactions:
I was so thrilled to receive the items when I got home. A conditioner is a staple, and with a leave-on, it couldn’t be even more perfect!

When I got my hands on the kit, almost instantly, I applied the ‘miracle water’ leave-on. I was curious to find as to how the solution is called ‘water’ when basically, it looked like a gel. Yes, a gel. I followed as what was instructed on the packaging:

The instructions and the list of ingredients

The pump

Note: Beat dryness and humidity in any weather

Gel????
Behold! The gel-like solution instantly turned to water(?!)

Indeed, the leave-on solution delivers an ultra-light finish. My hair has turned glossier and prettier when I put it on. It was like an instant makeover to my super ugly hair. So, yeah, thanks BDJ! Thanks Pantene!

As for the conditioner, honestly, I wasn’t able to try it out yet. So, I hope this is fine!

If you haven’t signed up for your free Pantene Treatment Kit, please do. I don’t know for how long the promo period would last but it would be really great if you could get one for yourself. The kit is FREE, and shipping anywhere within the Philippines is FREE, as well.

Please sign up at group.ilovebdj.com and please visit bdjbox.com for more info.

#Choosetoshine and Merry Christmas to all!
