I don't quite like the first two months of the year, because I only get a single BDJBox for both. :(

However, the Jan-Feb BDJBox for this year is just waaaayyy beyond how I expected it to be.

Look!

Another sneak peek! The bottom photo shows a beauty booklet from Mandom Corp.

And finally, here's the breakdown!

Enjoy!

Bifesta Cleansing Lotion, 300ml - Php 419

This breakthrough makeup remover gently removes makeup and effectively cleanses skin. This is Japan's first ever water-based makeup remover that absorbs impurities, leaving skin feeling fresh and moisturized without the oily feeling.
A few days ago, I seriously contemplated on buying a Bifesta for myself. I knew I had to do something for my skin; because out of laziness, I sometimes end up sleeping with my makeup on!

I know it's a mortal skincare sin, but what else could I do? Cleanse with water even though my eyes are tired? Seriously, my mom would probably give a tedious lecture on how to take good care of my eyes.

Of course, I simply cannot neglect my skincare needs, and good thing Bifesta Cleansing Lotions offer a unique way to solve my dilemma. The Bifesta Cleansing Lotion offers to remove makeup and cleanse the skin even without water!

Just so you know, I'm glad I didn't buy a Bifesta while I was at Watsons the other day. It's as if I sensed that a Bifesta Cleansing Lotion would soon be delivered to my doorstep! Thank you BDJ!!!

Lucido-L styling Milk, 70ml (Php 295)

This day time hair supplement style and treats your hair at the same time! Powered by Hyaluronic Acid, it coats hair strands for soft and tangle-free hair, with a long-lasting sweet and fruity-floral scent. It comes in 4 variants to suit whatever style you like.
This baby looks like a good leave-on treatment. I haven't tried this one yet, but I suppose it would help my locks to stay in place. It claims to last for about 140 uses. How good is that?! And, for the record, I'm one happy Bella.

Lucido-L Treatment Oil Perm, 50ml (Php 295)

A perfect fit for permed and colored hair, this overnight treatment will repair and maintain your soft and bouncy curls that you've  always wanted! It can also serve as heat protection serum whenever  you are styling your tresses.
Here's another Lucido-L product, which is for overnight use. It claims to repair permed hair. I don't have permed hair, so despite my hesitance to let somebody else own it, I might just give it away. :(

This product claims to last for about 60 applications.

Sunkiller Perfect Water Essence, 30ml (Php 495)

This water-based Japanese sunscreen gel feels water light and delivers superior UVA protection and can double as your makeup base. It applies like water and is sebum proof, leaving skin feeling fresh, clean, and smooth.

I love sunblocks, and I'll love them even more if they're gels! This one is just about perfect!

This baby is for the face and the body. Interestingly, it could also be a good makeup base.

I have a feeling that this could be my next best friend.

Pixy Coverlast, 10g (Php 325)

This long-lasting powder foundation from Pixy has Microsphere Powder that covers blemishes for a smooth, even and natural makeup look. It also controls oil and shine to keep you looking  fresh throughout the day.
You know, I love anything Pixy, and this powder might just be a good product for me. I haven't swatched it just yet, so I hope it would match my skintone. Otherwise, I might just give this away as well.

It's interesting how they packaged this compact. The pressed powder is situated right below the mirror, while the puff is snugly kept at the bottom. I don't really know if it's pure genius or simply another form of inconvenience, but as of now, I love everything about this Pixy Compact Powder.

Pixy Eye Shadow, 2.8g (Php 315)

Its Micro-pearl formula creates a soft texture that makes  it easy to apply and blend on your lids. Its two-color combination makes it easy to use. Combine it with other shades to create  more eye makeup looks!
Finally! A Pixy eyeshadow.

The duo I received is called Sparkling Gold. Honestly, I'm not sure if I like the colors. I mean, the combination is a little off, don't you think? But, I'm thinking of using this soon.

I had swatched this a while ago, and I'm pretty pleased with the results. It's not overly pigmented. It's pretty decent, color-wise. Personally, I think it's quite powdery but it shouldn't be a problem.  It's not chalky anyway.

I got some other Pixy goodies as well, but they were repeat products. I'm in love with Pixy, so repeats are not an issue at all!

Pixy Blush On, 3.5g (Passion Roses 04)

This pretty blush will help you pull off that natural, cute flush on your cheeks, giving you a sweet and innocent glow whenever you smile. It also comes with a handy brush and built-in mirror for easy touch-ups!

I reviewed this blush here.

Pixy Two Way Cake Fit, 12.2g

This powder formula blends perfectly for a smooth and long lasting base. Use it wet for more coverage, or dry for a natural look. It contains two way whitening squalane oil to prevent dry skin, and SPF15 to protect your skin from sun damage.
Overall

Overall, BDJ totally nailed it! I love everything that came with this box.

And value for money? It's totally worth it. I'm a very happy Bella. In fact, it really feels like I bought two boxes already.

As for Mandom:

I love your products and I'm definitely keeping an eye on your brands for more! I have tried and tested a lot of Mandom stuff, and I'm in for more!

Overall, it's a great box.

Thank you so much, BDJ and Mandom!

Unboxing Post: BDJBox January & February 2015 - Kawaii Must-Haves

Saturday, November 22, 2014

I almost forgot! I received my November 2014 BDJBox just last week.

And...

What do you know?? It's another Benefit box!

Look at all those stuff!

I don't want to create a lengthy post today, so let's get started!

I have arranged the products according to my preferences.

It's Potent! Eye Cream
Brighten your dark eyebags with It's Potent Eye cream! It helps restore skin elasticity and boost collagen around your eyes.

Eye creams are a staple in any skincare routine. I use them twice a day, so I'm glad there's another eye cream jar to add to my collection.

Yes, it's so tiny because it only holds around 3.0 grams of product, but I don't mind. It's cute anyway. Plus, it's Benefit!

Posiebalm Hydrating Lip Balm
With its mango butter and sodium hyaluronate formula, you can get healthy, poppy pink tinted lips. Posiebalm helps you hydrate and conditions while giving pinkish glow.

Recently, I have been extremely obsessed with lip balms. I don't have a particular brand in mind, for as long as it's a lip balm, I should have it!

This, though tiny, is another addition to my collection. It's in a shade that I like too. I love it!

They're Real! Push-Up Liner
This lash-hugging pen gel liner uses a soft AccuFlex tip that gives you smooth, non-budge application. It's a waterproof, matte black gel eyeliner that can last for as long as 24 hours on your lids!

Apparently, BDJ Box knows what I need! I've been pondering on building up my liner stash, because when it comes to eyeliners, I'm stuck on Level 0. By Level 0, I have no eye liners in my vanity kit. Nothing. Nada.

But, I realized - I need one! Perfect makeup looks are not complete without an eyeliner!

 They're real! Eye Makeup Remover
This powerful eyeliner and mascara remover gently removes waterproof eye makeup without irritating your eyes. Simply saturate a cotton pad with the creamy gel and slowly be amazed at how easy it is to remove your eye makeup!

Here's another hit on my list of 'needs' - because I don't want to put eye makeup on without considering how to remove it later.

Thank you, BDJBox!

Total Moisture Facial Cream
Be radiantly beautiful with Total Moisture Facial Cream! It will leave your skin feeling hydrated and soft to touch.

Here's another skincare product that screams "Use me!!!". I love variety in skincare products, so this is definitely a plus for me! Since, I think this could only last for a couple of uses, I might as well put this in my travel purse. I don't have an excuse to skip my skincare routine!

BDJBox Benefit repeats (see BDJBox June 2014 - Let the Beauty Begin)

Benefit Lollitint
Benefit Big Easy
Benefit They're Real Mascara

I've had these products from the past BDJ-Benefit boxes. Despite being repeats, still, I'm happy I got them. I think I could never have too many Benefit products.

I especially love the mascara. It stays where it's supposed to stay, and for the first time in my miserable life, I now have a mascara that doesn't smudge on my lids! No embarrassing makeup fails, and definitely no panda eyes! Finally, a waterproof mascara that works for me!

I love the Lollitint, too.

As for the Big Easy, I don't have anything to say yet. Despite having two or three of these tubes in my stash, I haven't tried a single one yet. But, I will soon... Definitely..

Finally, here's the BDJ sticker of the month, which says: "Love the way you look, look the way you love", which makes sense to me.

I also received a Benefit brow voucher, which I'm not quite interested in. I might send it to someone who might need it.

Overall

I love everything in this box, especially IT being Benefit and all. I don't have complaints and I believe my Php 580 is money well spent on this gorgeous box.

Aren't we BDJ Bellas a spoiled bunch?

That's all for today!

Bye!

Love lots,

Newbee

Unboxing Post: BDJBox November 2014 - Sweet Shoppe

Wednesday, October 29, 2014

To be honest, I almost forgot about my BDJ Subscription. Maybe I was too preoccupied with my Memeboxes. Or probably, a month's worth of waiting time is simply too much for me to think about on a regular basis.

Nonetheless, I was pleasantly surprised when I got my BDJBox for October 2014 earlier today.

Judging by the boxes I received, BDJ must have decided on becoming extra generous for this month. Not only did I receive a big BDJBox, I got an extra box as well!

And, it says: SKIN SAVERS!

Way to go, BDJBox!

Here are the snapshots of the contents I received from two boxes:

Well, see for yourself if the products are really worth the wait!

I have arranged the products according to my preferences:

Dial Cleansing Pair

Dial Coconut Water Body Wash (437ml)
The first of its kind to contain coconut water, this hydrating body wash gives you youthful skin every time you shower.
First off, this body wash is HUGE! It's almost half a liter!

And, it smells really heavenly. Truth be told, I sense a hint of coconut, which I'm not really a fan of, but I love how Dial incorporated the coco scent into the body wash. Smells sooo heavenly. I love it!

Can't wait to use it real soon!

The Dial Coconut Water Body Wash in 437ml retails at Php 200.
Dial Coconut Water Soap (113g)

This bar is infused with moisture from coconut water and bamboo leaf extract, to hydrate your skin naturally.
I preferred the body wash over the soap, simply because I favor body washes over hard soaps nowadays. Nonetheless, this soap smells just like the body wash, which I really, really love at first whiff. I can't wait to use this real soon as well!

According to the BDJ curator card, a trio of this costs Php 140. Therefore, a Dial Coconut Water Soap in 113g must be around Php 50.

My Choice Smooth Skin Pack
My Choice Spa Salt (500g) - Mango

Maintain your skin's youthful glow with this salt scrub that's packed with antioxidants and vitamins.
Now, this is one brand that I haven't heard before. Mychoice reminds me of Echoice, which is a cheap Korean cosmetics brand. The former, apparently, was made in Thailand, so there's no obvious association with the latter.

Funny how both Mychoice and Echoice remind me of Iphone and Myphone.

Obviously, I got the Mychoice Mango variant, which claims to help in improving the skin's condition caused by sun damage. I find the claim difficult to believe though, but I'm really happy that BDJ finally sent us a salt scrub. Now, I have something else to use other than The Body Shop scrubs I hauled last month.

This My Choice Spa Salt in 500g, despite its size, is being sold for cheap! It's Php 100 each!

Now, there's a common denominator between Mychoice and Echoice, and that is: PRICE!

My Choice Hand and Body Lotion (90ml)

This creamy lotion is concocted with natural ingredients, as well as collagen to nourish and protect your skin from harmful free radicals.
It's another Mychoice product! This time, it's a hand and body lotion in the Mango variant.

Its short descriptions mention sun protection, which I believe is pretty similar with the salt scrub claims.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to use it soon, but I'm glad I got another lotion as backup.

The My Choice Hand and Body Lotion in 90ml retails for Php 70 each.

You think I'm already done talking about Mychoice products? Think again!

Mychoice added two more sachets (in sample sizes, of course) to my BDJBox. One is a salt scrub in Mango variant, while the other is a body lotion in Carrot variant.

These are definitely travel-friendly so I'm keeping them in my travel bag just in case!

Dove Hair Fall Rescue (7ml x 7 vials)

As the first hair care system that treats hair loss from the roots, Dove Hair Fall Rescue has infused Trichazole, soy protein and ginseng into their hair tonic, to reduce damage at the roots and lock your hair firmly in place, effectively lessening hair fall due at the source in just two weeks. Their formula feeds vital nutrients deep inside your hair, defending it from external stress and breakage.
I admit I considered purchasing this set from Watsons before, but I figured, the price tag was too much for me. Good thing BDJ Box gave me a chance to try it out! After all, I loved those Dove Hair Vitamins BDJBox sent out last month.

I wonder if this is any better?

And I do have a question just out of curiosity, just how exactly a hair fall formula fits in to a SKIN SAVERS box?

I wonder...

Dove Hair Fall Rescue set retails for Php 470.

Strip RPT Kit

Strip Ice Cream (sample)RELIEVE - This soothing, calming whip delight calms your inflamed skin - perfect as post-hair removal treatment.
I know I need this, because I wax on a regular basis. How I wish I could get a full-sized version of this!
Malin + Goetz Peppermint Body Scrub (sample)PREVENT - With bamboo and pumice to help shed dead skin, this cooling and creamy scrub will prevent ingrown hair.
I'm not too keen on using peppermint body scrubs at the moment. I have far too many scrubs now, and this sachet makes it to the most disinteresting body scrub stash.

Malin + Goetz Ingrown Hair Cream (sample) TREAT - It contains papaya and pineapple enzyme to eliminate ingrown hair, as well as vitamins B5 and E to repair your skin.
I need this so badly! I've got to try this, and if it works, I won't think twice on expend my hard-earned cash on this.

Yves Rocher Zero Blemish Gel Cream (samples)

This will be your secret to flawless and smooth skin! Formulated with Baikal Powder which is recognized for its re-balancing virtues, it absorbs excess sebum and minimizes pores. It also hydrates for a full 24 hours, so you don't need to worry about over-drying your skin. Dab the fresh gel cream on your t-zone for all day protection against blemish and shine.
Breakouts are definitely a big 'no-no' for me, but sadly, I frequently suffer from them. So, these sachets would really come in handy - I hope.

Revlon Colorstay 16-hour Eye Shadow Quad (1.09 oz) - 575 Delightful Charmant

Rich, velvety shadows blend smoothly so you can easily contour and highlight your eyes. Beautiful color wears for up to 16 hours, won't crease, fade or smudge, so it will always look freshly applied. It comes in a palette of expertly color-coordinated shades that you can mix and match for your most gorgeous peepers yet.
I had high hopes for this quad, but I must say, this is just horrible. I admit that the colors look pretty interesting on the palette. They stand out - they sure do.

But, when I swatched them, the shades were literally close to nothing at all. As if there was no pigmentation. The white one is white though, and the darkest has a little shade to it.

But the rest? You better forget about them. The rest of the colors are really close to nothing at all.

This quad is disappointing. I really couldn't find a redeeming factor to it. This turns out even more disappointing, especially that the name itself promises a 16-hour staying power for the shadows. It doesn't even show color, so why promise a 16-hour staying power?

And, they're chalky, too.

And, the applicator broke right after a couple of swipes.

Cheaper brands seem to work better than this quad.

Revlon, you used to be a favorite of mine. How in the world were you able to release a product as horrible as this?

According to the curator card the Revlon Colorstay 16-hour Eye Shadow Quad retails for Php 795

L'Oreal Paris Youth Duo

L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser x3 Serum (sample)
Enriched with ceramide pro to stimulate the skin's renewal process, this serum reduces fine lines and refines skin texture in just 4 weeks.
L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser x3 Anti-Aging Day Cream (sample)
This day cream has LHA to smoothen pores and 3% concentrated pro-xylane for replumped skin. Apply over the serum for better results.
A few months back, I bought a full-sized Loreal Revitalift V-Shaper Essence in full price - Php 995 (I think).

I really thought, it would be fun to try. But despite the high pricetag, it didn't work for me. I mean, there were no visible changes on my facial skin, and my cheaper skin care products seem to work better than the L'Oreal Revitalift Essence. So, I eventually quit.

I figured that I should lower my expectations on this product when it comes to skincare. However, this doesn't mean that I won't try these two samples at all. Still, I will, but like I said, I already managed my expectations.

These tubes are very tiny, by the way. So, they go right into my travel bag.

Overall

I love everything in this box, except for the Revlon Quad. Nonetheless, I could feel that I got my money's worth with BDJBox.

BDJBox, thank you!

Love lots,

Newbee

Unboxing Post: BDJBox October 2014 - Skin Savers

Thursday, September 11, 2014

Apologies for the late unboxing post for this Memebox.

If you missed my first Memebox unboxing post (Memebox Special #27 Diet Box), you may check it out here

Let's not wait any longer! Let the unboxing begin!

Memebox Superbox #31 Herbal Cosmetics
Soothe and comfort your mind, body, and soul with our new Herbal Cosmetics Box, packed with beauty products made from organic herbs such as lavender, tea tree, chamomile, or peppermint, all highly appreciated in the beauty world for their amazing healing powers. Sit back, relax, and enjoy nature's healing remedy with Herbal Cosmetics!

I got this box together with the Memebox Special #27 Diet Box. Both boxes were being sold as value boxes, by which combined cost is roughly around $68 + express shipping. As for this box, I got 6 full-sized items.

Here's a close look on the items included in the Memebox Superbox #31 - Herbal Cosmetics:

Items are arranged according to my preferences:

Calmia Rooibos Aqua Sprinkler Gel Cream 150ml ($34)
Rooibos Aqua Sprinkler Gel Cream is a pudding-textured moisturizing gel which can be used as an all-in-one cosmetic for skin booster, toner, emulsion, essence and gel cream. Rooibos extracts and sparkling water deliver nutrition-rich minerals and deep hydration to your skin. Uniquely, it can be sprayed on like a mist from a distance, but when you pump it close to skin, the texture comes out like a whitish gel cream!

I picked this one among the other products in box because it sounds so promising! I mean, I follow a strict skincare routine, which involves the following:

1) Cleanse, tone, moisturize + apply sunscreen in the morning
2) Cleanse, tone, moisturize in the evening
3) Use facial micropeeling + facial masks at thrice a week

Not to mention, the whole layering takes a big chunk of my time, but I still do it anyway. I believe that in order for my skin to age gracefully, I really have to do it, every single day.

The Calmia Rooibos Aqua Sprinkler Gel Cream, on the other hand, allows you to skip the tone and moisturize part, because it claims to be a sort of "all-in-one" product. How convenient!

I hope it works out well, because for one, I've been tardy at work for so many times because of this layering thingy, and this gel sounds like a lifesaver. I hope this wouldn't disappoint me. :)

Calmia Herb Cleansing Oil Gel 100ml ($18)
With a nourishing blend of organic argan oil and organic complex - lavender, rosemary, chamomile, basil leaf, green tea extracts - this Herb Cleansing Oil helps maintain skin clear, soft, and comfortable. Also, it turns into milk-colored foams that won't droop like average cleansing oils when lathered with water, allowing for a thorough cleansing deep down into your pores.

I simply love cleansers! And for the record, I have about 6 different cleansers in my drawer. No kidding! I really, really want to try them all.

Come to think of it, I have a feeling that there would be more cleansers on my way. After all, I have five other Memeboxes!

Let's face it, cleansing is an essential part of any lady's routine. I've said goodbye to using bath soaps as facial soaps years ago. And I've been seeing great things from the switch.

On the other hand, this Calmia Herb Cleansing Oil Gel is definitely NOT your typical cleanser. I know I've got a lot of cleansers, but there's nothing in my drawer that's supposed to perform as this new cleanser promises. The Calmia Herb Cleansing Oil Gel is supposedly made of organic stuff, and its unique formulation sounds like a must try. Can't wait to try it out!

Nasarang Herb BB SPF50+ PA+++ 30g ($46)
A Blemish Balm made from various herbal and grain extracts, this is a premium BB cream for anti-wrinkle care, UV Protection, and complexion brightening. It will replenish moisture to the skin, leaving it beaming with a natural glow. Despite its skin brightening property, it can be used for almost all skin types since it doesn't necessarily whiten your skin color; it'll only smooth out and cover up imperfections .

Ooooooohhh! A BB Cream!

From the very start, I have been hoping NOT to receive a BB Cream from one of my Memeboxes.

For one, BB creams generally have very good coverage, which is why I've been having difficulty emptying my BB cream stash. I have accumulated a lot since last year, and yeah, here comes another one.

But, I'm not gloomy or anything. Surprisingly, I'm happy I got this one.

Like the first two products I mentioned in this post, this BB cream just sounds so unique.

All this time, I've been using BB Creams that leave a whitish (or greyish) cast on my skin, but THIS...

THIS WOULDN'T!

It says that it would blend into your skin as it covers up flaws. Plus, it has SPF 50! Could you believe it?

This sounds like a product sent from heaven. Then again, can't wait to try it out!

Rose Mine Azulene Calming Gel 75ml ($29)
Soothe, moisturize and cool your dried, sun-burnt skin with this Azulene Calming Gel. Its gentle formula from chamomile extracts helps alleviate redness, smooth out roughened skin texture, and even reduce red blemishes.

My very first reaction when I saw this thing was:

OMG.. Something I couldn't use! And what a waste - it's a full-sized product! What have you been thinking Memebox?

The curator card mentioned chamomile, but sadly, there's not hint of it anywhere. It doesn't even smell like one!

Obviously, a calming gel is something that Filipinos (like me) would rarely (or never) use at all - because we avoid prolonged sun exposure like plague. I admit: right after unboxing, I just threw this farther from the rest of my favorite stash, but eventually, I took it back.

The curator card also mentioned something like: smooth out & moisturize roughened skin texture. That was when I figured that I could use it even without a sunburn!

I bet there's no harm in trying this out, primarily as a skin moisturizer.

Thank you Memebox for another potentially wonderful product.

Skinfood Bath Salt Honey Jasmine 80g ($3)
Made from various herbal extracts and mineral-rich organic salt from Australia, Skinfood's Bath Salt will alleviate and replenish your tired body and soul.

This bath salt's scent is just so strong that I could smell it inside a sealed Memebox box.

The thing is, I didn't like the scent at first. It made me feel nauseous, because it's probably too much for my tiny nose.

Few days later, I began to appreciate the scent because the strong 'throw' dissipated, leaving base notes to linger in the air.

I'm afraid I won't be able to use this bath salt though, simply because, we don't have a bathtub, and so are the most of us here in the Philippines. As of now, I use this bath salt as a closet 'freshener' and it works just fine.

Kskin Rose Sense 100% Essential Oil 5ml ($42)
This smart essential oil can be used for multiple functions - as a scented perfume when dropped on your clothes or underarms, as an aroma bath oil, as a body massage oil, and also as your secret perfume for when you're suffering from monthly period and its annoying stench.

To be honest, I have been expecting Memebox to include essential oils, because its theme leans towards herbal cosmetics. Essential oils are like the holy grail for beauty and relaxation, and personally, I think essential oils are pretty cool stuff to include in a beauty box.

However, I must admit, that I'm not too happy with this product. It's not that I don't like rose, but it's not the kind of rose that I would love sniffing. I don't know, but my senses keep on telling me that the scent is worst than granny roses (century old ones), which are pretty nasty and creepy, if I may add. Kind of reminds me of a very old haunted house.

I would have loved a lavender, tea tree, chamomile or a peppermint essential oil, because they're especially friendly to the senses. When it comes to rosy scents, it really depends. There are so many versions of rose scents out there and I'm afraid I just got the it-smells-awful kind of rose scent.

Also, funny how the Memebox curator card would encourage users to mask stenches with this essential oil.

Memebox, we all get it: You can do a whole lot of stuff with essential oils, but there's no need to sugarcoat it. Essential oils are essential oils - and they are great just the way they are.

Overall

Just like my first Memebox unboxing, I had a few things that I'm not too happy about. However, overall, I still find Memebox worth purchasing, to mention the following reasons:

  1. Great value for money - Do the computation, and you'll discover that I've indeed saved a lot of money from the cosmetics/products they included in the box;
  2. Features new products - Yes, they really include products that are new and innovative. I find this very important in a beauty box, and Memebox executes this perfectly well. I have been seeing new and innovative stuff from time to time.
  3. Address a certain need or choose a theme - This is where Memebox differs from the rest of the beauty boxes out there. With Memebox, you could choose which ones to purchase, and how many.
  4. Curation for products are excellent - I know there were some misses, but based on my experience, the misses seem a lot like bonus products to me, and would not significantly affect the value of the box. Aside from those misses, I appreciate the quality of the products included in the box. These are the kind of products that would be really difficult to part from.
Well, that's all for today's unboxing. Is there anything in this box that you'd like me to review? Just let me know!

Unboxing Post: Memebox Superbox #31 - Herbal Cosmetics + Why Buy Memebox? + Coupons

Saturday, August 2, 2014

July 2014 is finally over!

I'm glad to inform you, my dear readers, that it's about time for another BDJ Box unboxing!

I know it should have been done earlier, but the July box just came in late. In fact, it was shipped just last July 30. However, all the BDJ bellas subscribed to the July 2014 BDJ Box were informed that the box would come in a little late than usual. Thank you BDJ Team for the advance notice.

The long wait is finally over! The box that was delivered to our home just this afternoon turned out to be the BDJ Box I've been waiting for!

Bigger BDJ Box?!

Look! It's bigger (and heavier!) than the other BDJ Boxes I've had since January 2014. But does BIGGER (and HEAVIER) mean BETTER? Let's see.

The box looked a little worn out. I'm guessing it's because of the weight of the things inside it.

When I peeked inside, things were a little topsy turvy than usual. Well, the box was bigger, and there was more space for the items inside to move around. And, I rummaged the box for a while, before finally taking a photo.

July 2014's theme is Pure and Simple. I love the sound of that. Let's take a look at the items one by one. I've sorted these according to my favorites:

Keratin Complex Travel Valet Care Kit (89ml)
This shampoo and conditioner duo from Keratin Complex was developed to provide a gentle cleansing that will not diminish the precious nutrients of healthy hair. This sodium chloride free formula is recommended for dry, chemically over processed or damaged hair.
I was happy to see something that I could use for sure. I have damaged hair, and I'm running out of shampoo and conditioner. Good thing both the shampoo and conditioner from BDJ come from a brand that I haven't heard of. I'm pretty excited on using this. I hope these two could significantly improve the condition of my hair.

The duo, according to the curator card, retails for Php 495.00.

Nivea Pure Effect Exfoliating Wipes (20 wipes)
Your handy cleansing and exfoliating facial wipes you can take anywhere!
A few months back, I used to hoard Celeteque facial wipes, but I eventually gave up because they eat up most of my budget. I like wipes such as these, because I could skip on the facial wash in the evening (when I really need to), especially when  my eyes are really tired from doing all the computer work for at least 8 hours.

Celeteque's wipes were rather pricey - Php 160 for 20 wipes. Nivea's cheaper at Php 139 for 20 wipes, and it promises to exfoliate the skin, too. I really have high hopes for this one.

Vitress Hair Repair Cuticle Coat (30ml)
Bring back your hair's natural shine and have healthy, satin-smooth hair everyday
Vitress Heat Protect Cuticle Coat (30ml)
Protect your hair from damages and wear all the styles you want.
Both Vitress products bring back memories. When I was still in college, I used to use Vitress to improve the appearance and texture of my hair. However, I eventually broke away from that habit, because my last few years in college took up most of my time and my budget.

Vitress has been a tried and tested product of mine, and I'm really glad I have two of them in my BDJ Box. Each 30ml bottle retails for Php 75.00.

Nivea Anti-Perspirant Invisible Spray for Black and White (30ml)
Say no to cloth stains and stay protected from sweat and body odor.
While I'm almost 100% sure that I won't be happy receiving an anti-perspirant from a subscription box, I admit I'm quite satisfied that I did for today's BDJ Box. After all, it's Nivea, a brand that I've used in the past and wouldn't mind using again.

This anti-perspirant, on the other hand, is a first for me. I have high expectations for this one as well. Although it might sound crazy, I'm glad that BDJ Box sent a sample size of this anti-perspirant and not a full-sized one. I'm not really sure how this would work for me, but I'll definitely give this a try.

Full-sized product at 150ml retails at Php 184. A 30ml product must be around Php 37.00.

Hygienix Hand Gel (100ml)
Fight germs while keeping your hand s nourished and refreshed wherever you go.
Hygienix Hand Spray (55ml)
Keep your hands soft, smooth, and moisturized on the go!
Both Hygienix Products are not new to me, but I don't mind using them over and over again. It's pretty sweet of BDJ to include these. I guess I have something else to use aside from my Bath and Body Works Pocket Sanitizers.

The Hygienix Hand Gel (100 ml) retails for Php 45.00, while the Hygienix Hand Spray (55ml) is at Php 40.00.

Enchanted Eyeshadow Palette 6g
This long-wear eye shadow palette contains 3 shades that allow you to add depth and drama to your eyes. Swipe on the lightest shade as an overall color while using the medium shade to contour, then use the darkest shade to line your eyes.
I'm not so fond of applying eye shadows, but I think this one's worth keeping, cause I might need it soon. I heard that this isn't the first time that BDJ sent out Enchanted Eyeshadow Palettes to BDJ Bellas, but I bet that was before I started subscribing.

I know I might sound funny, but aren't smokey eyes too sophisticated for a 'Pure and Simple' themed box? Or is it just me?

The Enchanted Eyeshadow Palette, by the way, retails at Php 199.00 each.

Nivea In Shower Skin Conditioner (10ml)
Replenish your skin moisture without that hot sticky feeling.
This product got me thinking. Is this a lotion? If it is, then is there a lotion that must be rinsed off during shower? Or is this a skin conditioner? Or a body wash?

Is it just me, or the label is just so confusing??

Anyway, I'm also glad I got one sachet, but it would have been better if there were 10, so that I could judge  if it could really deliver its promises.

100ml retails at Php 109, so the sachet could have been a little more than Php 10 each.

Celeteque Back Acne Spray (50ml)
Formulated with salicylic acid, which exfoliates the skin and works to reduce blemishes and acne. It also contains gluconolactone, which gently removes the build-up of dead skin cells, helping to prevent future breakouts. Spray after bathing and make sure to let it dry completely.
To be frank, this product is something that I don't need. I don't have problems with Back Acne or anything of the like, so I gave it away. My sisters and my parents are still arguing to whom this will go to. They have lots of trouble with back acne.

The Celeteque Back Acne Spray in 50ml retails at Php 320.00.

Pink Sugar Fine Fragrance Mist in Bloom (250ml
Fall in love at first spritz with Pink Sugar's 12 various scents, grouped into their Fruity, Naughty, Dreamy and Happy Collections. You're sure to find one that will suite your every mood and emotion. Use it throughout the day as a refreshing way to feel and smell great!
This is the first time for me to receive a fragrance mist from BDJ. However, when I sprayed it on my hands, I started sneezing. My nose began to react to the scent.

So, it goes without saying that the Pink Sugar Fragrance Mist will have to go somebody else. My mom happily accepted it; surprisingly, she even said that it's a really good fragrance and she's going to use it alternately with Victoria's Secret.

The Pink Sugar Fragrance Mist costs around Php 299 for scents under the Fruity Collection, and Php 249 each for scents under the Happy, Dreamy and Naughty Collection.

Envie Aestheticare and Medispa Voucher
This came in last, just because, I can't use it.

Anyway, the last few photos are from the July 2014 BDJ curator card that came in with the box.

The total cost of the items in this box is almost Php 1700, which is almost thrice the subscription fee of Php 580. In terms of quantity, this is still great!

I'm happy that I got this box, though, I must admit I've seen better from BDJ. Keep it up, BDJ! :) I'm a happy Bella. :)

Anyway, what do you think?
