When I first saw this neck product from my Memebox Princess Edition 2 - Sleeping Beauty, I admit I wasn’t really interested in it. I believed that the neck is simply an extension to the facial skin, and therefore, would be fine without resorting any skincare product of its own.

What I apply on my face is what I apply on my neck as well.

Sounds like a good idea? No, not really.

The neck is a crucial area that we need to take good care of.

Let me explain:

Most women worry at the sight of wrinkles along the forehead, and along the eye areas - to name a few - but truth be told, the neck reveals so much more.

Sagging skin?
Discolored skin?
Wrinkles?

Most of these show prominently on the neck area. A lot of times, they are more obvious on the neck than on the face. This also means that early signs of aging show on the neck!

And all this time, we’ve always been concentrating anti-aging products on our face! The neck needs some sort of extra care, too!

Thankfully, cosmetic industries are now addressing ‘neck problems’, and one of the several products that target the neck area is the Vella Neck Tight Cream.

Nope. You didn’t read it wrong. The packaging does say ‘Neck Tight Cream’.

The Vella Neck Tight Cream is an anti-aging cream that promises to tighten and deliver elasticity to the skin. It also promises to smooth out wrinkles in the neck area.

Vella, by the way, is a Korean brand. I really don't know much about this brand, except that I have one more product from them, which is the Vella Cleansing Cream - also from Memebox. Other than that, I don't think it's a widely known brand. Apparently, this product is only available in Korea.

Pros:

  • Moisturizing
  • Easy to apply
  • Absorbs quickly
  • Smells pleasant
  • Enhances skin texture

Cons:

  • Not available locally

Packaging

Funny how the Vella Tight Cream, the Skin79 Lemon Brightening Mask, and the Enprani Dear By Enprani Bounce Cheese Cream have visually similar packaging. The last two products though are heavier than the Vella Tight Cream.

If you’re worried about the fragility of this item, don’t fret. I don’t think it’s made of glass. I dropped it a couple of times and it’s still intact. Pretty and sturdy packaging - which I like.

Also, they printed the expiry date and the batch code on the jar.

Formulation

One thing’s for sure, it sure is creamy! It absorbs easily on the skin, and it doesn’t leave a white cast.

Being in a tropical country, I appreciate that it doesn’t ‘warm’ up the skin, like most lotions and moisturizers do. It’s rather cool and it doesn’t make your skin greasy and sweaty.

I believe that this product smells nice, too. The scent reminds me of perfume or cologne that a young sophisticated lady might prefer to wear on a warm, sunny day.

Effectiveness

I don’t have much experience on neck creams as this is my first ‘neck product’. However, I believe that this product performed rather well. It moisturized my neck and it enhanced the texture. I could say that this product did much better than the moisturizers I used in the past. A few minutes after application, I always find my neck smoother and silkier than it used to be.

However, I still quite doubt the ‘tightening’ effect. Sad to say, I didn’t notice the tightening effect the entire time I used this - or did I just miss anything? I’m glad to report though that my stretch marks and wrinkles along the neck area have lightened a little bit.

Repurchase?

To be honest, I haven’t really decided yet. This product was good, but I’m thinking of trying out other products to compare it with. I think I’ll try out Skinfood’s neck product next.

How about  you?

Do you think we should add neck skincare products to our routine?

I would appreciate it if you could comment below!

Until the next post! Bye!!!

Review: Vella Neck Tight Cream

Sunday, March 22, 2015

Don’t you just love the aroma of freshly baked cookies? Add a hint of mint, and it smells absolutely heavenly!

When Memebox sent me a tub of It’s Skin Cookie and Hand Cream in Mint variant through Memebox Special #47 - My Dessert Box, I didn't feel too excited because I wasn't a fan of hand creams by then. I thought lotions are already sufficient.

However, that notion of mine changed when I began using this.

It's Skin Cookie and Hand Cream in Mint promises to nourish and moisturize the skin.

Pros:

Cookies and cream scent with a hint of mint
Moisturizing
Fun to use
Very cute packaging
Not greasy when applied

Cons:

Takes a while to absorb fully into the hands
Tub-type packaging
Not locally available

Packaging

As you could see, the product is housed in a tub, with no spatula, whatsoever. I don’t like tub-type packaging for skin care products in general, because I hate dipping my fingers/spatula into the product. However, what can I do? I can’t hate THIS packaging, despite its ‘unhygienic’ container, because it’s simply too darn cute!

Come to think of it: how many of us apply hand cream without washing our hands first?

I bet, not so many.

For the record, I don’t apply hand cream without washing my hands first. I believe only clean hands deserve hand creams. If you believe in such, then maybe, the tub-type packaging may not be so ‘unhygienic’ for us after all.

The container aside, I kind of appreciate this packaging because of its simplicity. It doesn’t say much, but the essentials are printed in English and Korean. Also, the batch code and manufacturing date are indicated. So, no worries for me.

Formulation

The cuteness doesn’t end in the packaging. Even the cream is sooo darn cute in itself.

Look:

The specks you see almost look like cookies, and with the slightly minty cream around, it surely reminds me of Cookies and Cream - in mint variant!

And the scent! And the scent, is soooo spot on! Cookie lovers will surely rejoice at the sight and the smell of this! It reminds me of cookies and cream with a hint of mint. I absolutely love it!

Don't worry about the specks turning black like the one above. It 'melts' and doesn't leave residue nor discolor your skin.

Effectiveness

I’m not crazy on this cream only because of its looks and scent.

It does what it promises, too! It hydrates the skin so well - leaving my hands so smooth and silky every after application. The product takes a while to absorb into the skin though, but I don’t mind because the scent is wonderful on the skin, especially when it hasn’t fully absorbed yet.

Overall

Obviously, I’m in love with this product, but I don’t think it’s available locally. I’ve seen It’s Skin products (in limited quantities and variants) in Watson’s shelves the other year, but recently, they seem to have disappeared. Where could they have gone to?

Repurchase?

If given a chance? Of course, I will!

I heard there are other variants of this hand cream as well - in original, and in strawberry. I look forward to trying each variant!

How about you? Have you tried this hand cream before?

What do you think?

Don’t forget to comment below!

Love,

Marie

Review: It's Skin Cookie and Hand Cream in Mint (80ml)

Wednesday, March 11, 2015

Last year, I bought the Memebox Special # 52: WTF (Wonderful Treasure Finds), and decided to try the Bath Charm Store Dead Sea Salt Pearl Natural Soap in 100g.

It claims to be made of 100% natural ingredients, and could be perfect for those with sensitive skin.

Pros:

  • Claims to be 100% natural
  • Contains good stuff: eg. hyaluronic acid and shea butter
  • Lovely floral/fresh scent
  • Very pretty and presentable
Cons:
  • Expires within a year
  • Expensive at $6 (according to Memebox)
  • Not available locally
  • Might cause allergic reactions to some people (due to lavender and rose essential oils)
The soap

There's no denying it; this soap is soooo pretty! Seriously, it took me several days to decide on when to use it. If it wasn't for the expiry date, which is a year after manufacture, I would have really kept it for a couple of years more.

But after a week, I decided to use it. It smells good, and it lathers just fine. The scent, once applied on the skin, doesn't stay long though.

And I noticed, that every time I leave it out to dry, some lovely beads form at its surface. It's sooo pretty! See for yourself!

Effectiveness

According to the curator card that this product came with, this soap is ideal for those with troubled and/or sensitive skin. I believe that it is indeed gentle for somebody like me who has normal skin.

However, I couldn't really vouch for its effectiveness on sensitive skin though, because I noticed that it contains lavender and rose essential oils that are highly considered as skin irritants. If in doubt, conduct a patch test first to see if it's good for your skin.

Overall

It's really a fun soap to use, but I categorize it as a novelty item, rather than a necessity. For one, it expires in a year! Truth be told, I would rather stick to an 'artificial' product that could last for a couple of years, than a 100% natural product that expires in less than a year. Also, aside from its looks, it's not really special. I don't think it had a 'WOW' factor to it, and I really don't consider it as a WTF product (wonderful treasure find).

Nonetheless, this soap gave me a good experience, that is surely worth remembering. But, too bad, I won't be repurchasing it!

Have you tried this soap before? How did it go?

Love,

Marie

Review: Bath Charm Store Dead Sea Salt Pearl Natural Soap 100g

Tuesday, March 10, 2015

Time is valuable, which is why a lot of us often opt for the faster options in life. Fast cars, fast processing time, fast foods - if you know what I mean. Truth is, sometimes, we couldn't even afford to lose some time for ourselves. Thanks to other priorities and responsibilities.

Indeed, even the most basic skincare routine, 'cleanse-tone-moisturize' is difficult to maintain on a daily basis.

Good thing, some skincare manufacturers have already considered the inconveniences behind 'skincare layering'. The skincare industry, particularly the Korean skincare market, is now marketing all-in-one skincare products.

How exciting!

Luckily, I got my hands on my first ever 'all-in-one' skincare product last year.

For starters, I got the Calmia Sparkling Roobois Aqua Sprinkler Gel Cream in 150ml.

Pros:
  • Very convenient to use because it's an all-in-one product (booster, toner, emulsion, essence, and gel cream)
  • Can be sprayed or can be used as cream
  • Non-greasy formula
  • Good consistency
  • Absorbs into skin quickly
Cons:
  • 'Sharp' floral scent
  • Stings on skin (sometimes)
  • Could cause redness on skin (sometimes)
  • Not available locally
  • Expensive at $34 (according to Memebox)
  • Doesn't work as a whitening product
I got this product from the Memebox Superbox #31: Herbal Cosmetics last year.

It claims to be an all-in-one product and could be used as a substitute for booster, toner, emulsion, essence, and gel cream. It sounds promising because it could potentially enhance the features of one's facial skin, without spending extra time on layering.

Consistency

I think it's a good skincare product, because it's not greasy on the skin and it absorbs pretty quickly once applied. This solution doesn't spoil makeup application, too. It's like applying over a makeup primer, because at most times, it makes it easy for me to apply liquid foundation or BB cream all over my face.

Solution in the container - bubbly gel

It's also fun because you could use it either as a spray, or a gel. To use it as a spray, you could simply spray it 20cm away from your skin. Spray it closer to the skin, and it will come out as gel.

Calmia Roobois as gel

I frequently use it as a gel because I find it more economical, but when the weather is extra hot and humid, I use it as a spray, because it's refreshing. It's a personal preference though, you could do anything you like with it.

Calmia Roobois as spray

Effectiveness

As expected, this product did work out as a good moisturizer. After application, my skin always turns out well moisturized. Although it promises whitening and anti-wrinkle effects, sadly, I couldn't really attest to it, because it hasn't significantly improved the condition of my skin with respect to those areas.

Batch code and expiry date
I also think that the smell of this thing is a bummer. It smells floral, but not the lovely kind of floral. It's rather strong, and it lingers for a while on the face. It does make me want to sneeze every after application. So, really, I would have preferred this as an unscented product rather than the one with a scent such as this.

Although this claims to be a product with herbal formulation, I still believe that this is not ideal for those with sensitive skin. Even my 'normal' skin reacts to this every once in a while. Sometimes, it stings and burns in one area, and sometimes it causes redness all over. It's not really a big thing for me, but I assume it matters to those who have very sensitive skin.

Repurchase?

It's expensive; it's difficult to find online; and it doesn't smell good for me;

So basically, I won't be buying another bottle of this.

Did I mention that it's rather expensive at $34?

I won't repurchase this, but I won't stop trying other all-in-one products in the market.

Who knows? I might find one that would REALLY cut back my skincare routine.

How about you?

Review: Calmia Sparkling Roobois Aqua Sprinkler Gel Cream 150ml

Friday, February 13, 2015

You must have heard about Memebox finally giving up on international orders. I live in the Philippines, so I can't help but feel upset on the decision. I would just have to give up on Memeboxing, too! Soon enough, ONLY Korea, China and US will get to enjoy their Memeboxes.

Anyway, I received my last order from Memebox yesterday.

It's the Memebox #1 Night Care box, which is the first box for 2015. Funny how the first box for 2015 would be my last Memebox.

New beginnings, eh?

Let's unbox!

First look, and I personally believe that it's loaded with goodies. I was pretty disappointed by the absence of the iconic Memebox curator card. But then again, this is my last ever Memebox, so I guess the missing curator card shouldn't matter much.

MYPU; Black Pearl & Gold Velvet Gel Eye Patch 1.1g X 60ea ($30)

When they announced that this would be included in the box, I was so happy. I've always wanted to try eye hydro gels, but they are sooooo expensive when bought in retail price. 60 pieces of eye gels sound like heaven to me. And this is just perfect!

HEART FACE Ultra Pore Care Sleeping Pack 100ml - $14

What is a night care box without sleeping packs?

This adorable sleeping pack contains galactomyces and hyaluronic acid, which are very much in demand in the beauty industry. I couldn't tell much about these two ingredients, but I've seen great things from both galactomyces and hyaluronic acid.

D’RAN Wonder Lifting Eye Cream 25g - $35

It's an eye cream! Yay! However, I couldn't really tell if it's any different from the eye creams I already have. I'm going to look into this. At 25g, it's one large eye cream though!

TOSOWOONG Natural Pure Snail Essence 60ml - $24

I think I received this in one of my Memeboxes before, but I'm not so sure. Anyway, anything with snail in it is very welcome! I love snail beauty products!

SWITCH PATCH Elephant 3-Step! Black Head Nose Pack 7g - $3

This is an easy 3-step nose pack for opening up, unclogging, and tightening back your pores for treating excess blackheads on the nose. The step 1 is a cotton mask sheet enriched with witch hazel water, lemon balm extracts, and grapefruit extracts and works to melt and extract the excess blackhead and sebum. The step 2 is a peel-off type nose pack made from lemon extracts and aloe vera leaf water. Lastly, the step 3 bio-cellulose mask sheet stretches out 8cm and effectively soothes and firms back the enlarged pores with a gentle blend of lavender, chamomile, and eucalyptus extract. (Memebox)
This is good to have, but I don't think I NEED anything like it. It's fun to have, but it would have been great, really, if it was just another full-sized product. And, it sounds gimmicky, too. I guess if you're the adventurous type, you might like this!

AVEC MOI Mask 4 Set 8g + 16g + 16g + 4.5g ($33)
  • Intensive Nail Pack 4.5g
  • Camellia Special Care Hand Mask 16g
  • Pony Tail Silky Treatment Pack 8g
  • Shea Butter Special Care Foot Mask 16g

Seriously, Memebox? $33 for 4 pieces of mask? I don't think you're giving us the real value here. Anyway, these masks are just novelty items. I don't really need them, but then again, they're fun to have!

Overall

First off, the curator card is one of the main components of any beauty box. I think Memebox made a grave mistake on removing curator cards from the boxes. I think these cards add a little bit of 'value' to the box despite the cards costing close to nothing. Curator cards matter, Memebox. Please, bring them back!

I don't count a one-time use mask as a full-sized item. Hence, this box just amounts to 4 full-sized items. I can't believe it!

First four items, in fairness, are awesome. But still, somehow this box lacks something special. I wonder what that could be?

And Memebox, one last word. Really, I hate your decision on international shipping, but I guess you can't help it. I'll really miss you.

Love lots,

Newbee Marie

Unboxing Post: Memebox #1 Night Care (First Box of the Year 2015)

Thursday, January 22, 2015

For a while, Memebox Global postponed releasing new boxes sometime in November and December 2014. I felt like a kid deprived of gifts. I had VIP coupon codes and Memepoints, and nothing to spend them on!

Memebox, you played with my heart!

Anyhow, Memebox eventually released some boxes and some value sets. Admittedly, they weren't interesting. I would have loved the Value Set Promo, wherein you buy two boxes or more, your purchase automatically upgrades to Express Shipping without the extra cost. So, despite my longing for Memeboxes, I didn't order for November and December. The Value Set Promo is soooo dear to me, and it seems Memebox has no plans to offer it again.

But, when I saw the Secret Key Holiday Edition Value Set on sale for about $30+, I gave in. It was basically a $0 purchase because I've had enough points to spend. If I remember correctly, Memebox claimed that the set's retail price was about $100+, but it's hard to believe. I checked everything from other websites, and the 'retail price' of the set actually comes close to the 'sale price'. Seriously, there's no reason to inflate, is there? But, Memebox did, anyway.

Moving on...

Here's my first ever Memeshop Haul, featuring the Secret Key Holiday Edition Value Set!

Secret Key Snail Repairing Eye Cream

Anything that's made of snail is sooooo welcome, and this is definitely my first time to use a snail product for the eyes.

To be honest, I bought this value set mainly because of this particular eye cream. I hope it works!

Secret Key Black Out Pore Minimizing Pack Pore Tightening Effect

I haven't tried black mask packs before, so I got excited when I figured that this would be included in the value set. This definitely reminds me of Memebox's Dirty Gal box. I'm not even sure if this was in that box.

The packaging is cute, but I expected it to be sturdier. Apparently, it's made of light plastic, which is a bit of a letdown. The scent is not so pleasant at all, and sadly, it smells like glue, but if it works on pores, I bet I won't mind the scent eventually.

Secret Key The Yellow Cream

Whitening. You know how I feel about whitening stuff, right? I'm not really a fan. But since this is a value set, and I was just aiming for the eye cream, so, why not? I got what I wanted anyway. This is just a 'bonus' item.

It's amazing how the yellow specks blend in with the jelly. It's amusing and intriguing at the same time. I might just want to keep it after all.

Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence

If only this baby was in 50ml, instead of 30ml, this would have been at the top of the list. It seems to contain good stuff, such as Galactomyces.

Secret Key Donkey Milk Berry Milk Hand Cream

Indeed, donkey milk is an essential beauty ingredient. Even a lowly hand cream has it!

I haven't tried anything that's made of donkey milk just yet, but by using this hand cream, I bet it would be a good way to start. Berry and milk sounds like a good combination, too!

Secret Key Body & Dress Perfume Mist

I have a whole cabinet full of fragrances as of the moment, so, I won't be using this. On second thought, I might just want to give it away. Obviously, I haven't tried it yet, and there's no way for me to tell if this smells great, or not.

Overall

I kind of expect this value set to look and feel 'luxurious', but sadly, they don't look and feel any better to Purederm, which is more of a Korean drugstore brand. At $35, I think this set is not really a steal, or not even a deal at all. A quick search of the products from other Kbeauty suppliers would reveal their 'market value'. A quick computation of the 'market prices' would definitely give you a value of a $30 - $40 price range.

So, Memebox, this is not worth $100+ at all.

If there's any consolation to this purchase, it's the free shipping. So, maybe, it's a deal after all.

Haul Post: Memebox Secret Key Holiday Edition Value Set

Wednesday, January 21, 2015

Ladies, it's my first blog post for the year 2015!

And, before anything else, let me extend my sincerest gratitude, to you, my dear readers for the support. I wouldn't have made this far without you. I know I still have a lot to learn and explore, but I'm doing everything I can to make things work. I hope you'll find this blog helpful in a lot ways.

So, how's your year so far?

Today, I'm bringing you my first ever unboxing for the year. I should have done it a few days ago, but then again, I had to attend to lots of important stuff. Anyway, here's another Memebox!

Ladies, take a good look at the Memebox Superbox #81 - 1st Anniversary Box!
In celebration of Memebox's 1st year anniversary, we meticulously picked out only products that past our 1st and 2nd level screenings! This ultimate K-beauty box is bursting with the most talked and most wanted K-Beauty beautifiers that make it super simple to look drop-dead gorgeous! Perfect to give as a gift for the coming holidays, (or perfect to give as a gift to yourself), this box contains everything tailored to your K-Beauty needs! 1st anniversaries only come once, and we're gonna make sure that it makes a mark in K-Beauty history!
Did the description made you want to grab an Anniversary Box?

A few months back, I was determined to get a hold of this box. This was sold together with the Pumpkin box, but I didn't grab it because I've had doubts with its contents.

Here's the sneak peek!

Unni Recipe Makes Your Skin Sooth Firming Pact SPF25 PA++ #21 Light Beige 12g - $12

Most cushion packs offer flawless coverage along with strong adherence but only end up choking the skin all day, which ultimately brings about dehydration, breakouts, and premature aging, However, this innovative Unni Recipe pact helps skin breathe through and over full makeup. Its moist, cushiony formula is infused with a 'Silky Balance Network'. It smoothly coats over skin with a natural coverage and leaves skin feeling silky soft and revitalized.
I'm not so into pacts, but this one, is just different from every pact I have. It's bigger and definitely bulkier, and the material is not something that you would take lightly. Its polished black packaging simply reminded me of mineral foundation, but when you open it up, the whole thing smells like BB cream!

Its texture is probably the most intriguing of all, because it's sooooo soft and bouncy! I swear, this is not an ordinary pact at all. I'm not so sure about its shade though. It could be a miss on my fair skin. I hope not!

Tosowoong Bee AC Control Lotion or Bee AC Control Toner 100ml  - $15

Tosowoong's Bee AC Control series is formulated from naturally-derived ingredients - bee venom, galactomyces, and bifida ferments - that effectively soothe and neutralize acne-prone or stimulated skin. This skin care line is especially recommended for those with sensitive, problematic skin that receives damage easily from dryness and the external environment.
I heard bee venom is the thing for acne-prone skin. My skin's not acne prone, but I can't say no to a bee venom-and-galactomyces combo in one product! I got the lotion, by the way. It would have been nice if I got the toner.

AHC Whitening Cream SPF35 Pa++ 30ml - $38

Skin brightening is with no doubt one of the most sought-after features that Korean women take into consideration when purchasing skin care or base makeup products.  This AHC Whitening Cream combines moisturzing cream, sunblock, brightening cream, and complexion correcting cream to provide the ultimate 4-in-1 multicare. A vitamin-rich blend of niacinamide, hyalouronic acid, lemon, kakadu plum, kamu kamu berry and betaine deeply replenishes dry, damaged skin and visibly corrects uneven skintone to create the signature dewy, translucent complexion so adored by Korean women.
I can't believe I got another whitening cream. I don't really like whitening stuff, but the kakadu plum and kamu kamu berry in the list of ingredients are sooo intriguing. I might try this one out, or I might give it away.

Rire Capsule Mask Pack 75ml - $22

Is your skin suffering from constant dehydration this winter? This innovative spray-type mask pack is here to save the day. A mix of adenosine, niacinamide, cherry, blossom, evening primrose, and violet extracts delivers rich nutrients and instant moisture resurge to dry, sensitive skin.
Whitening. So, yeah, I'm not really interested in this. The packaging is nice, by the way. And this thing's not a mask pack at all. It's just a spray type formula. I'd like to think of this as a toner.

Rire Cool Dr. Scalp+ 10ml & Hot Speed Manicure 15ml - $11

Enriched with various oriental medicinal extracts, the Cool Dr. Scalp+ works to cool down the scalp temperature for preventing possible hair loss and also to remove unnecessary impurities and dead skin cells from your scalp for both healthier scalp and hair. Then, there's the Hot Speed Manicure which works to penetrate deep into the hair cuticles, deliver abundant nutrition and creates a strong protein layer for maintaining the healthy moisture balance of your hair.
Two tiny tubes for the hair. I initially thought these were for the nails. Boy, I was wrong!

Overall

What's this box called again? Ohh.. yeah, it's Memebox's First Anniversary Box. Honestly, it doesn't feel like it. It didn't excite me at all.

First anniversaries are supposed to be super memorable and special, right?

In my opinion, the Cafe Box would be a more fitting 'Anniversary' Box.

Now, I wish I got the Pumpkin Cosmetics box instead of this.

Unboxing Post: Memebox Superbox #81 - 1st Anniversary Box

Tuesday, December 23, 2014

I love my fruits and veggies, because for one, they deliver good results. Health and beauty benefits are in for the long run, if you just take your fruits and veggies seriously.

When Memebox released a box called Green Food Cosmetics, I was sure that I had to have one. After all, the description is more than enough to entice me to the great world of Green Foods:
Did you know that green fruits and veggie are packed with excellent sources of vitamins, sulfur, and chlorophyll - all potent skin and body detoxifiers - to give your most gorgeous and healthiest looking skin? The beauty benefits that we get from green foods is unimaginable. It adds luminosity to the skin, revives damaged skin tissues, and supports the skin's healing process for faster cell turnover. Don'y know about you, but now I'm regretting not eating that last broccoli off my dinner plate! Props to all you who already eat your super greens, but for the rest of us who lack in the healthy food consumption department, there's always our Super Greens Cosmetics Box!
Seriously, I really have to agree with Memebox on the importance of the greens.

Without further ado, here's my unboxing for the Green Food Cosmetics box:

Here's the breakdown:

I have arranged the products according to my favorites.

Primary Raw Seoul Do You Original Soy Milk Facial Cream 100g - $40

Primary Raw Seoul, a natural cosmetics brand promoting use of 'primary' and 'raw' ingredients straight from nature, has launched its first Do You Cream (Do You means Soy Milk in Korean). Enriched with soy bean extracts, soy milk ferments, rice water, galactomyces, and other grain extracts, this Soy Milk Facial Cream is deeply hydrating, gentle in formula, and brightens up uneven, dull complexion for a clearer and healthier glow.
This product made me smile, because it looks so... lavish! It comes with a tiny bag and a box. They even covered the lid with paper to make the product look more 'organic'. Some may think Primary Raw overdid it, but I love the extra effort.

If there's anything like a 'best packaging award', I bet it would go to Primary Raw Seoul Do You Original Soy Milk Facial Cream 100g!

Did I mention that they added a 'Korean' note to it, too? Sad to say, I can't read the text.

I have one question though, how come a Soy Milk product is in this box? Did I miss anything? Or is Soy Milk a Green Food, for real?

Memebox, this is so puzzling, but I love the product though!

Solucion 9 Aztec Therapy Shampoo 250ml - $68

Solucion 9 is a scalp and hair specializing cosmetics brand using only natural herbal ingredients. This Aztec Therapy Shampoo gets its inspiration from the beauty secrets of Ancient Aztecs - known to have incorporated herbal and medicinal plant extracts in anti-hair loss treatments for their females. A blend of 9 natural herbs - espinosilla, jojoba oil, nettle, oritiguilla, aloe vera, rosemary, chamomiles, and citrus-works to alleviate scalp blemishes, soften and strengthen damaged hair, and deliver a refreshing aroma therapeutic effect.
An Aztec Shampoo? Really?

I couldn't say much about this shampoo. To be frank, I didn't quite expect Memebox would include a shampoo in a Green Foods box. And, while this shampoo consists of herbs, I'm beginning to doubt the box's adherence to the Green Foods theme. Green, maybe. But Foods? I don't think so.

Nonetheless, I could use this and I'm happy that Memebox gave us a chance to try out an expensive shampoo.

WillSpa Touch Aroma Therapy Roll-On 12ml - $18

De-stress and refresh your spirits with WillSpa Touch's aroma therapeutic roll-on type essential oil. Each roll-ons are infused with a different blend of jojoba seed oil, peppermint oil, rosemary leaf oil, lavender oil, eucalyptus oil, lemon oil, etc.
Here's another unexpected product, and it's not a green food cosmetic at all.

But I think this is worth keeping for somebody like me, who needs a quick therapeutic product to use during stressful days (and nights, too!)

Tosowoong Aloe Whitening Essence 60ml - $16

Brighten and firm up dull and sagging skin with this whitening facial essence enriched with over 75% pure aloe vera leaf water. It instantly soothes, cools, and deeply replenishes the sensitive, stimulated skin. This gentle formula can be used by all skin types and ages.
Ugh. You know me. I kind of despise anything ALOE now. And aloe vera, for one, is NOT a green food.

It's green. TRUE, but have you ever heard of people who eat aloe vera? I, for one, haven't.

So, the answer's NO: This is NOT a green food cosmetic at all.

Derma:B Fresh Moisture Body Lotion 50ml - SAMPLE SIZE

A nourishing body lotion targeting dry and sensitive skin types. It's infused with tea tree, peppermint, bergamot, ginger, and amber notes in a refreshing herbal blend. Its gentle formula is non-sticky, fast-absorbing, and best kept refrigerated.
I've seen the full size of this product in our local mall. So, I'm not so excited about it. And, it's not even a green food. I might just gift this to somebody else.

Overall

Personally, I think the curation for this box is a disaster. In fact, there's very little adherence to the Green Food theme. To be honest, I've been expecting a lot more, because I've seen a lot of Green Food cosmetics in local Kbeauty stores. I thought this concept was foolproof, but I guess, things happen the way we didn't imagine it.

Nonetheless, I'm happy I got the Do You cream, the shampoo and the aroma roll-on.

That's all for today!

Enjoy your holiday!

Love,

Newbee Marie
