Ladies, it's my first blog post for the year 2015!

And, before anything else, let me extend my sincerest gratitude, to you, my dear readers for the support. I wouldn't have made this far without you. I know I still have a lot to learn and explore, but I'm doing everything I can to make things work. I hope you'll find this blog helpful in a lot ways.

So, how's your year so far?

Today, I'm bringing you my first ever unboxing for the year. I should have done it a few days ago, but then again, I had to attend to lots of important stuff. Anyway, here's another Memebox!

Ladies, take a good look at the Memebox Superbox #81 - 1st Anniversary Box!
In celebration of Memebox's 1st year anniversary, we meticulously picked out only products that past our 1st and 2nd level screenings! This ultimate K-beauty box is bursting with the most talked and most wanted K-Beauty beautifiers that make it super simple to look drop-dead gorgeous! Perfect to give as a gift for the coming holidays, (or perfect to give as a gift to yourself), this box contains everything tailored to your K-Beauty needs! 1st anniversaries only come once, and we're gonna make sure that it makes a mark in K-Beauty history!
Did the description made you want to grab an Anniversary Box?

A few months back, I was determined to get a hold of this box. This was sold together with the Pumpkin box, but I didn't grab it because I've had doubts with its contents.

Here's the sneak peek!

Unni Recipe Makes Your Skin Sooth Firming Pact SPF25 PA++ #21 Light Beige 12g - $12

Most cushion packs offer flawless coverage along with strong adherence but only end up choking the skin all day, which ultimately brings about dehydration, breakouts, and premature aging, However, this innovative Unni Recipe pact helps skin breathe through and over full makeup. Its moist, cushiony formula is infused with a 'Silky Balance Network'. It smoothly coats over skin with a natural coverage and leaves skin feeling silky soft and revitalized.
I'm not so into pacts, but this one, is just different from every pact I have. It's bigger and definitely bulkier, and the material is not something that you would take lightly. Its polished black packaging simply reminded me of mineral foundation, but when you open it up, the whole thing smells like BB cream!

Its texture is probably the most intriguing of all, because it's sooooo soft and bouncy! I swear, this is not an ordinary pact at all. I'm not so sure about its shade though. It could be a miss on my fair skin. I hope not!

Tosowoong Bee AC Control Lotion or Bee AC Control Toner 100ml  - $15

Tosowoong's Bee AC Control series is formulated from naturally-derived ingredients - bee venom, galactomyces, and bifida ferments - that effectively soothe and neutralize acne-prone or stimulated skin. This skin care line is especially recommended for those with sensitive, problematic skin that receives damage easily from dryness and the external environment.
I heard bee venom is the thing for acne-prone skin. My skin's not acne prone, but I can't say no to a bee venom-and-galactomyces combo in one product! I got the lotion, by the way. It would have been nice if I got the toner.

AHC Whitening Cream SPF35 Pa++ 30ml - $38

Skin brightening is with no doubt one of the most sought-after features that Korean women take into consideration when purchasing skin care or base makeup products.  This AHC Whitening Cream combines moisturzing cream, sunblock, brightening cream, and complexion correcting cream to provide the ultimate 4-in-1 multicare. A vitamin-rich blend of niacinamide, hyalouronic acid, lemon, kakadu plum, kamu kamu berry and betaine deeply replenishes dry, damaged skin and visibly corrects uneven skintone to create the signature dewy, translucent complexion so adored by Korean women.
I can't believe I got another whitening cream. I don't really like whitening stuff, but the kakadu plum and kamu kamu berry in the list of ingredients are sooo intriguing. I might try this one out, or I might give it away.

Rire Capsule Mask Pack 75ml - $22

Is your skin suffering from constant dehydration this winter? This innovative spray-type mask pack is here to save the day. A mix of adenosine, niacinamide, cherry, blossom, evening primrose, and violet extracts delivers rich nutrients and instant moisture resurge to dry, sensitive skin.
Whitening. So, yeah, I'm not really interested in this. The packaging is nice, by the way. And this thing's not a mask pack at all. It's just a spray type formula. I'd like to think of this as a toner.

Rire Cool Dr. Scalp+ 10ml & Hot Speed Manicure 15ml - $11

Enriched with various oriental medicinal extracts, the Cool Dr. Scalp+ works to cool down the scalp temperature for preventing possible hair loss and also to remove unnecessary impurities and dead skin cells from your scalp for both healthier scalp and hair. Then, there's the Hot Speed Manicure which works to penetrate deep into the hair cuticles, deliver abundant nutrition and creates a strong protein layer for maintaining the healthy moisture balance of your hair.
Two tiny tubes for the hair. I initially thought these were for the nails. Boy, I was wrong!

Overall

What's this box called again? Ohh.. yeah, it's Memebox's First Anniversary Box. Honestly, it doesn't feel like it. It didn't excite me at all.

First anniversaries are supposed to be super memorable and special, right?

In my opinion, the Cafe Box would be a more fitting 'Anniversary' Box.

Now, I wish I got the Pumpkin Cosmetics box instead of this.

Unboxing Post: Memebox Superbox #81 - 1st Anniversary Box

Sunday, December 28, 2014

As I'm writing this, I am savoring the cozy and relaxing atmosphere of Christmas. Indeed, it's the perfect time of the year to celebrate, and to relax.

Every year, my family celebrate Christmas through a simple salo-salo (gathering), and a whole day dedicated to leisure, such as watching movies, playing board games and reading books. We rarely go out, but we find the activities for the day fun and fulfilling.

This Christmas, we did our usual set of activities and we had fun!

Despite all the activities for the day, I still have enough time for a relaxing treat for myself. I did a full skincare routine and I'm proud to say that I didn't do shortcuts! I didn't miss my weekly masks, too!

Speaking of facial masks...

Just this morning, I finally used my last piece of Missha Red Ginseng Sheet Mask. I initially had 10 of these, but I used them over the weeks to see the effects on my skin. In case you haven't seen one, here it is:

SUMMARY

Pros:

  • Does not 'burn' on skin
  • Refreshing and cool
  • Moisturizing
  • Not sticky
  • Didn't cause any breakouts
  • Brightens

Neutral:

  • Scent: Smells like red ginseng
  • Effects last not more than 24 hours

Cons:

  • Tears off easily
  • May not be 'ergonomic' to use
  • Available in selected stores only

DETAILS

Red Ginseng, according to most sources online, could (1) potentially treat acne, (2) lessen the visibility of wrinkles, and (3) enhance the facial glow, to mention a few.

The Fit

Missha's version of the Red Ginseng sheet mask, on the other hand, features a 3D design, by which it is supposed to enhance the 'fit' of the mask to anyone's face. I bet, it's leaning towards the one-size-fits-all concept.

Apparently, their concept of 3D, depends largely on the perforations at the center of the mask, which had gone from the very top, to the very bottom. These perforations allow the center to become a bit stiff, and therefore would enable the nose to fit snugly at the center (by theory). The mask actually looks funny when worn, because both the nose and the chin part would appear sharper and pointier.

However, based on my experience, this 3D mask concept is gimmicky and sad to say, not quite ergonomic, at least for me. The perforations allow more space for the nose - in fact probably too much, if you have a smaller nose, like mine. Thus, my nose didn't fully benefit from the goodness of the red ginseng, because there was a gap in between my nose and the sheet.

In addition, the perforations pull the sheet towards the center; hence, if you need bigger coverage, you may find the mask, too small to wear. I had some issues with it because some parts of my face were not covered.

I guess, 3D's not for everybody.

Effectiveness

Like most Korean sheet masks out there, this mask is so cool to the touch. I enjoyed using it. Leaving it on for 20 minutes was really worth it!

What I really love about this mask is its brightening effect. It does brighten! And it shows even right after you take it off from your face. For some reason, it's like magic to me. However, it would be really nice if the effect goes longer than 24 hours. There are some masks out there that help your skin be at its best for more than two days, and for some reason, this mask couldn't do any better.

By the way, this mask is moisturizing, too, and it didn't cause me any issues at all.

Repurchase?

Yes! It's brightening effect is just amazing that I might keep more of this mask in the near future!

On another note:

I've decided to change my 'review' layout a bit. I want to contribute to the beauty community so bad, that I've decided to cut to the chase for each post and show you the pros and cons for each product first before finally getting on to the details.

I don't want to stress you beauties with so many chitchats, and I do hope this new layout will help you with your beauty-related decisions! As you may have noticed, I have applied my 'new' review layout on this post, but this is not entirely how I intended it to be. At least, not yet.

That's all for today! If there's anything you'd like me to improve on this blog, please, please, do comment below!

I would really appreciate it!

I love you all! And wishing you all the best this coming 2015!

Love,

Newbee Marie

Review: Missha Red Ginseng Sheet Mask

Tuesday, December 23, 2014

I love my fruits and veggies, because for one, they deliver good results. Health and beauty benefits are in for the long run, if you just take your fruits and veggies seriously.

When Memebox released a box called Green Food Cosmetics, I was sure that I had to have one. After all, the description is more than enough to entice me to the great world of Green Foods:
Did you know that green fruits and veggie are packed with excellent sources of vitamins, sulfur, and chlorophyll - all potent skin and body detoxifiers - to give your most gorgeous and healthiest looking skin? The beauty benefits that we get from green foods is unimaginable. It adds luminosity to the skin, revives damaged skin tissues, and supports the skin's healing process for faster cell turnover. Don'y know about you, but now I'm regretting not eating that last broccoli off my dinner plate! Props to all you who already eat your super greens, but for the rest of us who lack in the healthy food consumption department, there's always our Super Greens Cosmetics Box!
Seriously, I really have to agree with Memebox on the importance of the greens.

Without further ado, here's my unboxing for the Green Food Cosmetics box:

Here's the breakdown:

I have arranged the products according to my favorites.

Primary Raw Seoul Do You Original Soy Milk Facial Cream 100g - $40

Primary Raw Seoul, a natural cosmetics brand promoting use of 'primary' and 'raw' ingredients straight from nature, has launched its first Do You Cream (Do You means Soy Milk in Korean). Enriched with soy bean extracts, soy milk ferments, rice water, galactomyces, and other grain extracts, this Soy Milk Facial Cream is deeply hydrating, gentle in formula, and brightens up uneven, dull complexion for a clearer and healthier glow.
This product made me smile, because it looks so... lavish! It comes with a tiny bag and a box. They even covered the lid with paper to make the product look more 'organic'. Some may think Primary Raw overdid it, but I love the extra effort.

If there's anything like a 'best packaging award', I bet it would go to Primary Raw Seoul Do You Original Soy Milk Facial Cream 100g!

Did I mention that they added a 'Korean' note to it, too? Sad to say, I can't read the text.

I have one question though, how come a Soy Milk product is in this box? Did I miss anything? Or is Soy Milk a Green Food, for real?

Memebox, this is so puzzling, but I love the product though!

Solucion 9 Aztec Therapy Shampoo 250ml - $68

Solucion 9 is a scalp and hair specializing cosmetics brand using only natural herbal ingredients. This Aztec Therapy Shampoo gets its inspiration from the beauty secrets of Ancient Aztecs - known to have incorporated herbal and medicinal plant extracts in anti-hair loss treatments for their females. A blend of 9 natural herbs - espinosilla, jojoba oil, nettle, oritiguilla, aloe vera, rosemary, chamomiles, and citrus-works to alleviate scalp blemishes, soften and strengthen damaged hair, and deliver a refreshing aroma therapeutic effect.
An Aztec Shampoo? Really?

I couldn't say much about this shampoo. To be frank, I didn't quite expect Memebox would include a shampoo in a Green Foods box. And, while this shampoo consists of herbs, I'm beginning to doubt the box's adherence to the Green Foods theme. Green, maybe. But Foods? I don't think so.

Nonetheless, I could use this and I'm happy that Memebox gave us a chance to try out an expensive shampoo.

WillSpa Touch Aroma Therapy Roll-On 12ml - $18

De-stress and refresh your spirits with WillSpa Touch's aroma therapeutic roll-on type essential oil. Each roll-ons are infused with a different blend of jojoba seed oil, peppermint oil, rosemary leaf oil, lavender oil, eucalyptus oil, lemon oil, etc.
Here's another unexpected product, and it's not a green food cosmetic at all.

But I think this is worth keeping for somebody like me, who needs a quick therapeutic product to use during stressful days (and nights, too!)

Tosowoong Aloe Whitening Essence 60ml - $16

Brighten and firm up dull and sagging skin with this whitening facial essence enriched with over 75% pure aloe vera leaf water. It instantly soothes, cools, and deeply replenishes the sensitive, stimulated skin. This gentle formula can be used by all skin types and ages.
Ugh. You know me. I kind of despise anything ALOE now. And aloe vera, for one, is NOT a green food.

It's green. TRUE, but have you ever heard of people who eat aloe vera? I, for one, haven't.

So, the answer's NO: This is NOT a green food cosmetic at all.

Derma:B Fresh Moisture Body Lotion 50ml - SAMPLE SIZE

A nourishing body lotion targeting dry and sensitive skin types. It's infused with tea tree, peppermint, bergamot, ginger, and amber notes in a refreshing herbal blend. Its gentle formula is non-sticky, fast-absorbing, and best kept refrigerated.
I've seen the full size of this product in our local mall. So, I'm not so excited about it. And, it's not even a green food. I might just gift this to somebody else.

Overall

Personally, I think the curation for this box is a disaster. In fact, there's very little adherence to the Green Food theme. To be honest, I've been expecting a lot more, because I've seen a lot of Green Food cosmetics in local Kbeauty stores. I thought this concept was foolproof, but I guess, things happen the way we didn't imagine it.

Nonetheless, I'm happy I got the Do You cream, the shampoo and the aroma roll-on.

That's all for today!

Enjoy your holiday!

Love,

Newbee Marie

Unboxing Post: Memebox Special #64 - Green Food Cosmetics

Sunday, December 21, 2014

It's great to have one beauty expert friend around, but when you've got over 20,000 beauty-addicted friends, that's just party waiting to happen. We asked what Memebox favorites you are in love with and used up until the very last drop on Facebook to include in this Memebox Empties!
Packed with only super effective and super innovative beauty faves that you approved, this box will not only address your most annoying beauty woes, they'll demolish them!
Seriously, I was scared when I saw the spoilers for the Thumbs Up! Bloggers Picks box. I must say, it was horrible. And, this Empties box, based on the description, is quite similar to the Thumbs Up! box. I seriously pondered on cancelling this box, because, Memebox ruined the Thumbs Up!, and so, how could they not ruin this one?

However, I'm glad I didn't cancel at all.

Because, it's a box worth keeping after all. Take a sneak peek!

And, here's the breakdown. I have arranged the products according to my preferences:

Purebess Galactomyces 80 Eye Cream 50ml - $20

There's no need for an expensive high-end eye cream anymore with this affordable high-quality product made entirely from natural yeast ferments! Galactomyces works not only to lock in moisture within your skin but also to rid of any residues piled up in your pores and to remove any signs of fine lines along your contours, delivering an overall effect of a more translucent and naturally glowing 'skin'.
Hooray for this eye cream!

I heard in Makeuptalk that Galactomyces is a game changer, so I have really high hopes for this one. I won't use it just yet, but it's calling me everytime I see it!

Secret Nature from Jeju Peeling Gel 150ml - $29

Made from volcanic clay, natural cellulose components, and the pesticide-free Jeju all from the Jeju Island, Secret Nature's From Jeju Peeling Gel is 97% pure, raw and directly derived from nature. Its gentle yet effective formula will exfoliate any excess dead skin cells and skin impurities, and work to purify and brighten up the overall complexion as well.
This is not my first peeling gel. The first one I got was from Skin79, which I loved to bits. This, however, seems like a better version because it's sourced from the famous Jeju Island. And, I think this tube holds more product than the Skin79 version.

Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence 60ml - $18

Instead of water, this facial essence uses snail secretion filtrate, bee venom and EGF to cleanse your rough, damaged skin from external stresses and pollution. In addition to the skin-trouble care, moisture supply, and skin tone improvement functions, it also help brighten up your complexion and remove signs of aging.
I have heard raves about this essence. It's new; it's one-of-a-kind, and it's effective, according to most beauty junkies out there!

Good thing Memebox listened to their raves. I'm a happy camper.

Purederm Nose Pore Strips Cacao 6ea - $6

This Nose Pore Strips Choco Cacao is a one-step pore care treatment specifically designed to unclog excess blackheads, whiteheads, dirt and oil piled up in your pores. You'll feel a dramatic difference after just one use.
I think this was featured in the Cacao Box. I wasn't really interested in this product until I finally have them. It's interesting and it comes with six sachets, too!

Purederm is an inexpensive Korean brand, but one of my favorites.

 Enesti Rice & Milk Foaming Cleanser 120ml - $15

A foam cleanser made from mineral-rich hot spring water and packed with rice & milk extracts, this product will thoroughly cleanse deep into your pores yet to deliver rich moisture, leaving your skin glowing with natural translucence!
I haven't seen this cleanser before, and Enesti's a brand that I'm not so familiar. I only have one product from Enesti so far, and that was the red lipstick that came with the Lipstick box a few months back. The lipstick wasn't really my cup of tea, but I heard Enesti manufactures excellent skincare products.

This will be judged soon.

Evas Rose Mine Perfumed Hand Cream 60ml - $12

Evas is a brand renowned for its perfumed hand cream series, and this is its another popular line offering three most-loved signature fragrances. The Gleaming bijou has a gentle and refreshing floral scent infused with delicate lilac, peony, and amber notes. Then, the  Mush & Musk boosts its floral musk fragrance with a twist of lily, oriental jasmine, and patchouli. The Maybe, on the other hand, is your ultimate fruity floral fragrance infused with lovely lychee, apricot and poppy notes.
Another hand cream! I haven't opened this yet, but I'm happy I got another hand cream for my stash. My hands do get their extra pampering every once in a while.

Boutique Bebe Hair Salong Argan Oil Essence 60ml - $31

A high-quality hair essence bring a real hair salon treatment right in your home, Boutique Bebe's argan oil essence will instantly deliver nutrition and hydration to deep within, bringing back the healthy glow and luster to your now dry, crumbly hair.
This is a repeat from one of my hair boxes, but I don't mind getting another one at all. I haven't used this yet, so I couldn't really attest how this would work on my hair.

Overall

This box is a dream come true! I don't really mind these repeats because these products are the best repeats a Memeboxer could every get her hands on!

I love this box soooo much!

Thanks Memebox!

Love,

Newbee Marie

Unboxing Post: Memebox Superbox #74 Memebox Empties

For me, the concept behind the Wonderful Treasure Finds and OMG boxes are similar. For both boxes, you'll have to embrace the risk of getting products that are extremely uncalled for. The last OMG box I had, though, was not so OMG, except for the private parts' masks, which were not quite appropriate if you'd ask me.

I hope this box, the WTF, would be like OMG in a good way. I'm expecting new beauty products that are worth keeping!

If you're interested, you may read Memebox's description for WTF:
There's really nothing quite like the thrill of uncovering new, under-the-radar beauty products, and sharing the discovery with someone you know! Same with us! Even though we secretly enjoy keeping our new beauty obsessions a little secret, it's kind of our job to spread the love about these rookies! So, get ready to give your beauty stand a wonderful makeover with this boxfull of WTF, and get ready to be obsessed with these wonders that have already housed themselves in our makeup stands and bathrooms!
This box, as mentioned in my last post here, was extremely delayed with the Wine and Cheese box. Last week, the awaited box arrived at my doorstep. Yay!

Here's a preview:

Anyway, here's the breakdown. Then again, I have arranged them according to my preferences.

Skindeco Comedo AC Power Serum 50g - $36

Ever thought of slathering high concentrates of anti-cancer ginger and garlic extracts on your skin?Well, Skindeco did and came up with this unique power serum enriched with a blend of ginger and garlic which softens roughened skin texture and removes excessive oil and dirt clogging up the pores, for a healthier, more glowing complexion.
Indeed, this is the first time for me to hear about ginger and garlic in a beauty product. Based on Memebox's description, this could be an intensive skin care product. My skin's not really sensitive, but it reacts harshly to most intensive skincare products. I hope this would work! And I hope this doesn't smell nasty.

Isn't the packaging gorgeous? It reminds me of Chinese New Year!

Elinette BMS Cure Cream 50ml - $65

Free of paraben and alcohol, this facial cream is formulated through BMS technology which boosts the function of antioxidants and minerals to stimulate skin turnover. It also works to soften, soothe, moisturize, nourish, and firm up dehydrated, sagging skin. You'll be able to experience a visual difference with continuous application of the Cure Cream.
The packaging doesn't look enticing, but the description is tempting me to open this cream and put it to the test. This product promises 'skin turnover'; now, that could be a gamechanger.

Sorry though, because this will have to wait. I have tons of creams to empty for now.

Mumur Air Waterdrop Cooling Hand Cream Snow Blossom 50g - $9

A lightweight, moisturizing hand cream, which instantly melts onto skin with a silky, soft finish. What's so unique about this product is that it creates  dew-like waterdrops when massaged over skin as if a snow flake has melted on your hands. It's also packed with hyaluronic acid and completely free of paraben, ethanol, benzophenon, artificial coloring, and artificial fragrance.
I used to ignore hand creams because they don't sound like 'necessity' to me. But recently, I've been grabbing hand creams more frequently than I used to. Memebox has been sending me boxes with hand creams that are so difficult to resist!

This product is an addition to my stash, but I won't complain! How many hand creams out there promises to give you that "melts-like-a-snowflake" sensation? This handcream sounds like a Wonderful Treasure Find indeed.

Dearberry Play Choux 30ml - $13

This lightweight, skin perfecting primer helps create a smooth, even canvas for foundation. It color corrects fro a range of complexion concerns, especially sallowness, dehydration and saggy skin so that makeup glides on evenly and stays true for a healthy, even-toned start. The Lemon Choux specifically works to brighten up dull, uneven complexion while the Peach Choux works to add a healthy light-from-within glow to skin.
This reminds me of Etude House's Sweet Recipe Baby Choux, which I used in the past. Etude's product was okay, but I decided to omit it from my routine because it doesn't do much, in my opinion. I wonder which company got a hold of the 'choux' labeling first. Or is this a norm among Korean primer/ makeup base?

For now, I can't figure out what makes this product a Wonderful Treasure Find, but it's good to know that I have a backup for this. I'm also happy that Memebox gave out the full size.

Yadah Capsule tok Soothing Gel 200ml - $11

The visible green aloe vera capsules soothe and moisturize skin while the yellow vitamin capsules rejuvenates and brightens up comlexion as they melt onto skin. A blend of aloe vera water, green tea extracts, and cactus flower extracts, effectively cools and soothes stimulated skin and leaves it moist and nurtured. Also, witch hazel water and lotus extracts work together to treat and firm up clogged pores.
To be honest, I've gotten really tired of receiving soothing gels - especially if it screams aloe vera all over.

This is no exception, sad to say. However, among all the soothing gels and aloe products in my stash, this appears to be the most interesting of them all. So, this will be used.

Bath Charm Store Dead Sea Salt Pearl Natural Soap 100g - $6

A 100% natural soap made from dead sea salt, pearl powder, shea butter, hyaluronic acid, jojoba oil, lavender essential oil, and rose fragrance. This gentle formula helps brighten up dulled complexion and is perfect for treating troubled, sensitive skin.
If I didn't read the curator card that this box came with, I would have missed the message Memebox highlighted: Because it's formulated with only natural ingredients, make sure to use the soap within 1 year of purchase.

1 year of purchase or did they mean, 1 year after manufacture?

This is a bummer, because I would really love to keep this for display. The soap is so gorgeous that I just want to keep this on a longer period of time. This was manufactured October this year. I guess I should make use of this before October next year.

And, I'm not really a fan of hard soap cleansers. I wish Memebox didn't push through sending this product. I mean, they should have sent us another cleanser that won't go bad within a year. I don't really care if it's not purely from natural ingredients.

This is pretty and all, but I wish I could keep this for a couple of years more.

Tonymoly Mr. Smile Patch 10g - $2

This hydrogel type patch formulated with black secret complex - blueberry, black bean, black sesame seed, and mulberry extracts - effectively smooth out and firm up the skin along your smile lines.
A couple of years ago, I was eyeing this product at testerkorea. I couldn't recall why I didn't add this to my cart, but I remember very well, that I've always wanted to try this.

Now that I have this, I'm going to try this real soon!

Overall

I find this box a Wonderful Treasure Find indeed. Most products are rare to find, and they are fun to try. I got a great value for my money, too.

I'm so glad I got this box!

I hope you enjoyed today's unboxing!

Enjoy your holidays everyone!

Love,

Newbee Marie

Unboxing Post: Memebox Special #52: WTF - Wonderful Treasure Finds

Saturday, December 20, 2014

I remember very well the Memebox ban I imposed upon myself a few months back. This was to keep me from accumulating more and more 'unnecessary' beauty products. But, sad to say, I got suckered in, because of two spoilers that I swear I couldn't pass up. The Wine and Cheese Cosmetics Memebox was so tempting that I simply gave in.
We love wine and we love cheese, but wine and cheese beauty products in a Wine and Cheese box? That's just a match made in heaven! Wine and cheese have gone hand in hand for centuries, but this is probably the first time you've seen a wine and cheese beauty box. Leave it to Memebox to cook up the weirdest, yummiest box that will amplify your beauty! Wine, famously know to be rich in antioxidants and essential minerals, speeds up the cell renewal process and simulates the blood circulation for the look of rejuvenated, brighter skin! Cheese, considered as an excellent source of Vitamin B for the skin, supports the look of supple, bouncy and glowing skin.
 And for the spoilers?

They hinted us with this:

And this:

testerkorea.com
Irresistible, right?

I thought so, too. But, things got rather complicated.

RANT (You might want to skip this part)

This box, in my opinion could have been the best box for me, but sad to say, there were some issues that made it the most inconvenient box I ever had.

First off, shipping for this box was moved thrice (correct me if I'm wrong on this), due to supplier issues. Apparently, the supplier could not meet the deadline, so Memebox had to reschedule its delivery. I think it took about a whole month to be finally delivered.

Such a bummer.

Did I mention that I bought this as a value set with Wonderful Treasure Finds? So, yeah, I did, and since the nice little Wine and Cheese box delayed the whole thing, my WTF box got tangled with it as well.

WTF.

When we thought Memebox brought everything under control (some of the Wine and Cheese boxes already shipped), we were wrong.

There were an unfortunate lot, whose boxes got delayed again, because of another supplier issue. This time, the Innisfree Wine Peeling Gel, the second spoiler, became impossible for Memebox to get a hold of. So, another delay, and no Innisfree product. Sadly, I was one of those poor souls who had to be patient. By this time, I have known that some Memeboxers from other parts of the globe have received their Wine and Cheese boxes, regardless of their shipping preference.

Heck, despite regular shipping subscription, they got theirs, while mine, which is for express wasn't even dispatched yet. They got an Innisfree product, too, which I find rather unfair. And why that soooo long shipping time? They could have just shipped the incomplete box anyway.

Sadly, there's no way of telling how Memebox decided on who gets the full box, and who won't. I guess I'll just have to let it pass.

Anyway, Memebox compensated me with 12 Memepoints to cover the out-of-stock Innisfree item. I'm not happy with what happened, but at least, I got something in return.

But, for some reason, I can't blame Memebox. My head's telling me that it's mostly the supplier's fault - for committing to something that he doesn't even have (in this case, enough wine peeling items). Commitment is everything, even for a business such as this.

And I do hope that this won't happen again.

RANT OVER.

I finally got my boxes just this week. And here it is:

When I opened the box, I was surprised at the apology card and the free Meme Mask to compensate for the inconvenience. But then, without the Innisfree bottle, this box just feels empty. But nonetheless, I could see the Bounce Cheese Cream and the Ladykin Mangchee Lifting Mask. These are the stars of this box.

I'm glad that this wasn't meant to be a 'crappy' box like the Hair and Spa 4. But if this was the Hair and Spa 4, I don't know. I might collapse from disappointment, maybe?

Anyway, here's the breakdown. Then again, I have arranged them according to my preferences.

Enprani Dear By Enprani Bounce Cheese Cream 75ml - $35

Bouncify your skin with a full-sized Memebox cult classic Dear by Enprani's Dreams Come True bounce Cheese Cream! This innovative facial cream has a unique ooey-gooey, bouncy texture that comes from a high concentration of protein-rich whey. The fun melted mozzarella cheese texture will adhere to the skin perfectly, and hydrate and firm the skin for the plumpest, youngest cheeks ever!
My Memeaddiction started when I heard about the raves for this cream.  Since then, I hoped Memebox would include this as a repeat.

As soon as I got this, I tried this, and I love love love it to bits! It is so moisturizing and the texture is so thick and luxurious. I have so many moisturizing creams in my stash, but by far, this is my favorite.

I'll use this on a longer period and get back to you on how this performs on my skin.

LadyKin Mangchee Lifting Mask 50ml - $43

This Mangchee Lifting Cream moisturizes, restores, replenishes, and calms the skin. Mango, cheese, and shea butter extracts boosts and locks in moisture for a dewy and youthful result. It leaves skin with an instant silky, soft, and supple feel and energizes the skin, giving you a healthy-looking, glowing complexion.
I haven't tried anything from Ladykin just yet, but I have a feeling that this product would be perfect for my skin. And this packaging is just sooo cute!

I know I can't pass up a mango-cheese combo for my skin!

Blanc Doux Pinot Noir UV Shield & Tone-Up Sensitive 40ml - $36

No more blemish-instigating, oily sunscreens! Specially formulated from a strong antioxidant -premium red wine 'Pinot Noir' - this mild, moisturizing sunblock not only provides moderate UVA and UVB protection but also replenishes and brightens up uneven skin tone and texture, for a glowing, supple complexion.
As of now, I don't consider facial sunscreens as 'essentials', because most facial products nowadays have SPF+++ on them - BB creams, foundations, blushes, CC creams - you name it! But this product is not entirely useless at all, because I could layer this to give my BB cream and foundation stronger protection from the sun's harmful UV rays.

Remember, that the minimum SPF you should put on your face should be SPF30. Most foundies and BB creams out there are at the SPF 15 - SPF 20 range. Since this sunscreen was designed to work as a primer, too, I guess, this gives me a reason to use 'primer' regularly.

LadyKin Mangchee Replenishing Hand Cream 60ml - $14

The anti-wrinkle functional hand cream containing cheese extracts, bacillus/ corchorus olitorius leaf ferment filtrate which Cleopatra used for her skincare and Adenosine which the anti-wrinkle functional ingredient absorbs deep into skin and  helps to strengthen the skin's innate power to protect itself, making the skin more vital and healthier. Mango extracts also makes skin clearer and more transparent and camellia sinensis leaf water rich in vitamin and polyphenol keeps easily dehydrated hands well-nourished, elastic and smooth.
Obviously, this is another mango-cheese combo. I swear I wouldn't miss out on this. How I wish this would smell yummy!

I haven't opened it yet, because I'm still trying to empty my current hand cream.

Tonymoly I'm Real Red Wine Mask Sheet Pore Care 21ml (2pcs) - $2

A micro-emulsion type essential mask enriched with red wine complex. It's fast-absorbing, effectively softens uneven skin texture, and maintains a healthy moisture/oil balance. Plus, it's free of paraben, talc, benzonphenon, tri-ethanolamide, and tar coloring.
This is an improvement for Memebox, because they didn't just include one mask. It's two pore care masks, and from Tonymoly! Kudos to Memebox for that!

I have no plans on using these masks yet, because I still have lots and lots of them in my stash as of this writing, but I'm keeping these two to try in the near future.

Overall

This is an awesome box, despite the inconveniences and the absence of the beloved Innisfree Wine Peeling Gel. I love it so much!

Imagine how I would feel if this was the complete box and delivered on time? It would definitely be heaven for me!

I guess this sums up pretty much everything I have in mind.

See you soon!

Love lots,

Newbee Marie
